There's a story that goes with this (it's true.) A man and his daughter bought
some cookies at Neiman-Marcus and enjoyed them. The man asked the waitress if he
could have the recipe. She said no. Then the man asked if he could BUY the
recipe. She smiled and said yes. The man asked how much, and she said two fifty.
When the man got his credit card bill, it said $280.00. This was crazy, he
thought. He remembered paying $25.00 for his and his daughter's lunch, and $5.00
for the cookies, but he didn't remember paying any other money. He called up
Neiman-Marcus, and they told him that he bought the cookie recipe for $250.00,
not $2.50. He did everything he could, but they said that he had already seen
the recipe, so they wouldn't refund his money. The man Mass-Mailed everybody on
America Online the recipe for these cookies, and told everyone to never go to
Neiman-Marcus, and to spread the "secret" cookie recipe everywhere. He thought
if they would take $250.00 from him, he would just have to have $250.00 of fun.
The recipe is as follows. Feel free to print it, make copies, and whatever you
want, as long as you tell the story, don't change the recipe, and make sure
everyone knows it is the Neiman-Marcus Cookie.
