Walkin on Water II Info

Walkin On Water drag boat racing team started as four friends getting together and taking an old Demarco Hydro and doing a complete overhaul on the hull patching holes in the transum and painting. The entire project took about 6 weeks from start to finish. That included a lot of nights up late! We took the painted hydro with a 460 chevy blown big block to the Hot Boat regata in Lake Havasu. After that weekend we got the wild idea of "lets race it", well, that started it all. Now all of us are hooked on racing. We raced that hull for 3 years and started to get the hang of it. We were a little depressed about its time and speed so we went to work on the power plant,we wanted MORE POWER! We put in a Keith Black 540CID blown motor and away we went. We had to detune the engine for safety reasons,we finally were going too fast for an open hydro. This led us to our present drag boat Walkin On Water II -- a Kurtis 501 capsuled hydro. We now can race safely. The 1999 Race season will be the first full race season for us in the new hydro. We have about 8 total passes from last year on and are still tuning the motor for its full potential. Come to the races and check us out!
