Missionary Cenacle Volunteers in BKTPAZ

Meet the MCV's

Kara Bensen

MCV 1997-1998

Kara came to us from Georgia. She served for a year at youth director of Blessed Kateri Parish. She overcame many obsticles and successfully laid the foundation of youth ministry that continues to grow today. We, the members of Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha Parish, wish to thank Kara for her generous love and service to us all. We love you, Kara. Good Luck and God Bless!

Travis Warzinack

MCV 1998-1999

Travis came to us from Louisiana in 1998. Since then he has been very active with the youth of the parish working with the teens and the school kids with the youth ministry. He has taken trips to baseball games, had fundraisers to defray the cost of activities, and also a trip to California. Overall Travis has been a great and awesome help to the people of the parish and for this we would like to say "THANK YOU, and WE WILL MISS YOU GREATLY!!" The MCV program lets adults spend a year on one of our Missions and unfortunately, like all good things, their time and work will come to an end. Travis will be leaving us on the 5th of August, 1999, but his memory and the works he completed here will be the cornerstone for the next volunteer who comes our way. Again Travis, WE WILL MISS YOU GREATLY, and GOOD LUCK IN ALL YOU DO IN THE FUTURE!!!

Louisa Ikena

MCV 1999-2000

Louisa is from a town in Northwest Florida named Niceville. She comes to us most immediately from The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C.. She received a BA degree in chemistry and secondary education from CUA in May of 1999. She started her year of volunteer service here at Blessed Kateri in late July of 1999. This allowed Travis and Louisa to have a week of precious overlap time in which he generously showed her the ropes. She has continued the programs that Travis and Kara began and expands them where it is possible. This year Blessed Kateri Parish enjoys the fruits of 4 youth groups - two for middle school and two for high school. Louisa would like to thank Travis and Kara for their invaluable service and prayers that have laid the foundation for this Eucharistic year of Jubilee. She thanks all who visit this web site and asks for continued prayers for the youth of this parish.
So then, by now you are thinking, "Ok, so I can vollunteer, this sounds good, but what would I be doing if I appplied and was accepted to volunteer in South Tucson on the Indian Missions?" Well, let me tell you from personal experience in one of the areas od the volunteer, the Summer Program is a lot of fun! Click the link to see what I mean. As a Summer volunteer, you can take part in helping out with the Summer program and that is a great opportunity to show your love for God's many different people. As a YEAR-LONG volunteer you get the joy of staffing the Summer program as well as being the youth Minister at the Various Missions. Louisa wrote up a little thing of her experiences so far as the youth minister for the 1999 - 2000 year. Click here to read it and see what you think. Click in the MCV homepage for more information on applying for the Summer 2000 Program. Trust me IT IS WORTH IT!!
