Dwayne Roberts
OUTSTANDING DISTRICT COMMITTEE CHAIR 1999-2000

Tall in the saddle, handy with a gavel, Dwayne Roberts, DTM, is known to most District 3 Toastmasters as the District Parliamentarian.

He's usually seen sitting beside the District Governor at District Council meetings and District Executive Committee meetings. He's there to advise the DG on how to handle parliamentary situations that occur. Dwayne is a Professional Registered Parliamentarian with the National Association of Parliamentarians. Our District Governors have appointed him as Parliamentarian since 1996.

Dwayne is also a facilitator at our district's Toastmasters Leadership Institute (TLI), where he conducts the session We The People, a detailed study of the Club Constitution. "People are usually surprised at how much fun we have studying such a 'dry' subject. Well, I have fun, too. And it's great to know that people are going back to their clubs understanding a lot more about what a Toastmasters club is and
does," he writes.

Dwayne is currently the Vice President Education of the Gilbert Toastmasters Club, which he joined when he moved to Arizona in 1994.

He first joined Toastmasters in Colorado Springs fifteen years ago. Since then, besides holding several club offices, he was an Area Governor of the Year, twice the Outstanding Division Governor of the Year, the District Lt. Governor Education and Training (earning TI's Excellence in Education and Training award), and the District Governor of District 26. As a Past District Governor, Dwayne is an active
member of District 3's Advisory Committee.
