Hollywood Arabian Costumes

This is one of the first costumes I did, it is done with a western bit which is common in the model showring, however in the real costume ring horses are shown under a double bridle. My third costume, which I don't have pictures yet will feature the correct double bridle. The beads are done in a latice design which native bedoin costumes do commonly use however the bedoin costumes do it in string. However this is an American Hollywood costume so of course it MUST be shiney LOL! The gold beads are triangular and are really nifty. The tassels are all hand tied and very secure. This costume was sold to Kim Najeera.

This costume recently NAN qualified against some of the top Bedoin costumes. It's a personal favorite. It is a little more correct with the snaffle bit. A snaffle is more likely to be used than the western curb but the double bridle is still the method of choice. This costume also has the beaded latice work, however I used beads that are octagon in shape and smaller than seed beads to they really throw the light. instead of just hanging the tassles from the bottom of the latice work I hung them on all levels of the latice and it really gave it a nice layered look.

Here's a close up of the bridle those little tassels on the bridle were not fun.
