Children of Obedience
A. CHRISTIANS DESCRIBED AS "CHILDREN OF OBEDIENCE."

1. Fathers have a right to expect obedience( Eph. 6:1 ).
2. Children of God by virtue of obedience.
C. WHAT ELSE IS SAID OF CHILDREN OF OBEDIENCE?
A. MENTAL PREPARATION FOR MENTAL WARFARE( 2 Cor. 10:3-6 ).
B. HOW TO PREPARE:
1. Be sober - have a serious disposition toward life.
a. The danger( 1 Pet. 5:8 ). Must be careful( Eph. 5:15; 1 Pet. 1:17 ).
b. Our influence( Titus 2:7-8 )
2. Set your hope on Jesus( Heb. 12:1-2; Col. 3:1-2 ).
a. Where are your eyes?( 2 Cor. 4:16-18 ).
b. Where is your treasure?( Matt. 6:19-21 ).
A. NEW CREATURES( 2 Cor. 5:17 ).
1. Transformed( Rom. 12:2 ). Not like when ignorant - renewing of the mind.
2. A new service( Rom. 6:12-13; 17-18 ).
B. NEW PURPOSE( 1 Pet. 4:1-2 ).
C. NOT THE SAME( Col. 3:9-10 ). The old things are become new.
A. "SANCTIFIED" - "SET APART" - "SEPARATED."
B. 1 Pet. 2:11-12. A RESULT OF EFFORTS TO BE RIGHT.
1. "Fleshly lusts" - War against the soul.
2. Striving against the spirit( Gal. 5:16-21 ).
3. 1 Pet. 4:3-4. It will make us different.
C. Eph. 5:11. HAVE NO FELLOWSHIP!
A. PURE AS A CONDITION( 2 Pet. 1:3-4; 2:20; Eph. 5:25-27 ).
B. PURE AS A BEHAVIOR( Phil. 2:14-16; 2 Cor. 7:1 ).
C. PURITY IS ACHIEVED BY OBEDIENCE( 1 Pet. 1:22; Rom. 6:17-18 ).
A. SALVATION IS NOT OF THIS WORLD(vs. 18; 1 John 2:15-17 ).
B. IT IS IN THE BLOOD OF JESUS SHED FOR US( 1 Pet. 2:24; 2 Cor. 5:14-15 ).
C. GOD'S PLAN FROM THE BEGINNING( vs. 20; Eph. 1:7-10 ).
A. GOD'S CHILDREN BEGOTTEN AGAIN THROUGH THE WORD( vs. 23 ).
B. CHILDREN OF OBEDIENCE( vs. 13 ).
