INTRODUCTION:

A.      THE CREED OF THE WORLD – “I don’t get mad, I get even!”

B.      THE DESIRE FOR VENGEANCE IS NATURAL.

          1.       Self-interest is a motivator.

          2.       We all have a desire for justice.

C.      GOD SAYS TO LET HIM TAKE CARE OF THINGS.

          1.       Getting even is dishonorable (vs. 17).

          2.       Revenge discourages peace (vs. 18).

          3.       Vengeance belongs to the perfect judge, he can do a better job (vs. 19).

          4.       What does the Lord want from us (vs. 20;  Matt. 5:38-39,  43-45).

D.      GOD’S DESIRE FOR US IS THAT WE BE GOOD – NOT SINK TO THEIR LEVEL.

E.      WE ARE COMPASSED BY A GREAT CLOUD OF WITNESSES.
