INTRODUCTION:
A. IN SPEAKING OF GOD, WE MUST BE CAREFUL NOT TO BE WISE ABOVE THAT WHICH IS WRITTEN (Matt. 11:27).
B. IS THERE A GOD?
C. WE RELY ON THE BIBLE FOR INFORMATION ABOUT GOD (Job 11:7-12).
I. GOD IS ONE
(Deut. 6:4; Isa.
44:6).
II. IN THIS SUBLIME
AND INCOMPREHENSIBLE UNITY THERE IS EMBRACED A THREEFOLD PERSONALITY.
A. Genesis 1:1. "CREATED" SINGULAR, "GOD" PLURAL. (Pulpit Commentary)
B. Gen. 1:26. "LET US MAKE MAN IN OUR IMAGE."
C. Matt. 28:19. CO-EQUAL IN AUTHORITY.
D. THREE PERSONALITIES REFERRED TO AS GOD.
1. Jehovah (1 Cor. 8:6).
2. Jesus (John 1:1).
3. The Holy Spirit (Acts 5:3-4).
E. THOUGH IT IS DIFFICULT FOR SOME TO COMPREHEND THE DIVINE UNITY AND RECONCILE THAT WITH THE DIVINE PLURALITY, FOR THOSE OF US WHO BELIEVE THE SCRIPTURES AN UNDERSTANDING IS EASY AND NOT AT ALL OBNOXIOUS.
III. HE IS OMNISCIENT
– INFINITE KNOWLEDGE.
A. HIS WORKS – THE PERFECTION OF HIS CREATION (Psa. 19:1; 139:14).
B. PROPHECY – MUCH IN HISTORY IS FORETOLD BY GOD (Isa. 42:9; 44:6-8).
C. HE KNOWS US – IN AND OUT (Psa. 139:1-2; Heb. 4:12-13).
D. HE IS ALL-WISE (Isa. 55:8-9; Rom. 11:33-37).
IV. HE IS OMNIPOTENT
– INFINITE POWER! (Gen.
18:14).
A. GOD CAN DO EVERYTHING (Matt. 19:26; Luke 1:37).
B. MAN CANNOT STOP HIM (Job 42:2).
C. THE POWER OF EVEN HIS WORD (Heb. 11:3; Psa. 33:6-9).
Genesis 1:3 "And God said, Let there be light: and

V. HE IS
OMNIPRESENT.
A. IMMENSITY OF HIS MAJESTY (1 Kings 8:27).
B. YOU CAN’T HIDE FROM GOD (Jer. 23:23-24).
C. GOD WON’T LOSE YOU (Psa. 139:7-10).
VI. HE IS SPIRIT
(John 4:24; Luke 24:39; Acts 17:29).
VII. HE IS INFINITELY
JUST.
A. THE CHARACTER OF GOD (Psa. 45:6-7). AS OPPOSED TO HIS NATURE.
B. DEMANDS AN ANSWER FOR SIN (Rom. 3:23-26).
VIII. INFINITE IN
HOLINESS (Isa.
6:3; Rev. 4:8; 15:4).
IX. INFINITE IN
GOODNESS (Psa.
145:9; Matt. 19:17).
X. HE IS ETERNAL.
A. HARD TO DESCRIBE ETERNITY (Psa. 90:2; 1 Tim. 1:17).
B. HIS NAME (Ex. 3:13-14).
XI. HE IS
UNCHANGEABLE.
A. NO MISTAKES OR SIN (Num. 23:19).
B. TRUSTWORTHY – INTEGRITY (Mal. 3:6).
C. CONSTANT IN HIS CARE (James 1:17).
XII. THE CREATOR OF ALL
THINGS.
A. THOUGH THEY DON’T KNOW HIM (Prov. 16:4).
B. IN WHOM WE LIVE AND MOVE AND HAVE OUR BEING (Acts 17:24-28).
CONCLUSION:
A. GOD MAKES NO EXPERIMENTS.
B. HIS OWN NATURE IS THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNIVERSE.
C. HIS WILL IS THE ONLY STANDARD OF RIGHT AND WRONG, GOOD AND BAD.
1. Our relationship is summed up (Ecc. 12:13).
2. We will be judged by him (Ecc. 12:14).
D. HE IS ON OUR SIDE!!!!! (John 3:16).
