Today, my brother
came over and I grabbed him and Larry and we hitched Ranger to the wagon and
away we went. We didn't put the top on and it makes a cute buckboard. Made
the trip down the road with cars passing with no problems. People slowing
down and waving and smiling. When we pulled up to the drive through window,
the lady couldn't believe what she was seeing. We ordered our cool, icy,
slushy coffees and she delivered them to us in a box and included a free
donut for Ranger! I told her I bet she never thought she would be a car hop
to a buckboard. We timed it just right on the way back. Met the mailman and
picked up the mail.
Ranger enjoyed his donut and wouldn't share with the other guys.
Bobcat Training
I have a 3 month old mammoth jennet foal that I've been working with the
clicker with. GloryB and I go for walks to the mailbox, up and down the
railroad tracks and in and out of the trailer. All without mama. I took
advantage of the construction going on in our pasture this morning with Glory
also. The thing that scared her the most was the radio that the crew had
blaring away. With the help of the clicker, it wasn't long before she was
walking between the flatbed trailer and the truck on the other side that had
the music. This shows GloryB near the bobcat.
Trying to think of ways to get Ranger used to noise and confusion. He has
been to many shows and parades and he's pretty steady. When the men came to
drill the holes for our new shed today, I thought "Great. Training time!"
This shows Ranger standing near the bobcat as it is drilling the holes.
