Each Month, I will try to highlight
a particularly neat game, and provide as many photos, and as much info, as I can.
TRU-ACTION ELECTRIC TRACK MEET GAME... Made by Tudor, 1960's. Tudor is the company that made the "Electric" Football game that so many men remember playing in their youth (you know, the one where all the football players ran around in circles before falling over...). The company also made Electric Baseball, Hockey, and Basketball, as well as a Horse Race game and a Sports car racing game, but I've never heard of this one before...
The game included 4 neat "Sprinter" racing figures, and probably included some kind of race log, which mine does not have. There were 2 kinds of tracks on the field, the 100 yard dash, the 220, 440, and mile run, and a separate "Low" Hurdle track. Like all Tudor games, you positioned your man, turned on the juice, and watched them writh and wiggle all over the place, hopefully in the direction of the finish line. The Low Hurdles section is especially neat, as the track has little bumps that cause the runners to "jump" over them as they glide down the strip.
Although the game is simplistic, it's fun. The value is really in it's rarity more than anything else. Tudor Electric football games are a dime a dozen. They were very popular, and there's lots of them out there. This game was not very popular, but of the low-rent Tudor games, it's a winner. Value: $50 - $75
