All of the haltering practice so far has been in his corral. Now we're extending that to the pasture. He has to re-learn the steps (altho they go more quickly) in this new circumstance.
All of the haltering practice to this point, has been with me in front of him. This photo shows that he is also needing to learn the haltering steps with me at his side.
My next plan for him is to halter him several times a day and lead him a very short distance to food. Hopefully, he'll relate haltering and leading with a start and an end, keeping the stress feedback loop in control. Involving the end destination of food should be helpful also.
We're attempting to re-pattern his brain in regard to haltering and overwrite any previous memories.
