Background
Daniel Kopf was born in Pennsylvania in 1970. His parents moved to Brazil, where the family lived for several years before moving to Washington state. At seven years of age, Kopf began learning magic illusion. He learned on his own for awhile before collaborating with his friend and neighbor, Brian Staples, who has gone on to own the world's only AZA certified traveling zoo. The duo began performing small shows together until, at thirteen years old, Kopf moved with his family to Arizona. Kopf kept studying magic, and began performing in Phoenix and Prescott as The King's Magician.
After graduating from high school, Kopf enjoyed a three year magical adventure, traveling and performing across America and throughout Europe and the Bahamas.
In 1993 Daniel Kopf moved to Phoenix, Arizona and began building his business as a local magician. By 1999, he was performing twenty to thirty shows per month in Arizona, and taking brief tours throughout the States most summers. Daniel Kopf has always been a renaissance man, enjoying multiple businesses and hobbies in the arts and entertainment fields. Throughout the years, in addition to performing as The King's Magician he has hosted radio programs, produced and hosted a television show called Arizona Artists, has been involved in several bands and music projects, has written novels and short stories, and much more. Often you will find him working under a pseudonym, such as Daniel Lionheart. For more information on Kopf's multiple current projects, please see the Newsletter page. |
