7 February – back to work today. It was a good day, for a first day back. I was happy to see Lucja and Mary again. Also, I received snail mail from my friends Carol (Putytat) in California, MOOO in Rhode Island, and Joisane (Mima) in Luxembourg. Thanks, ladies. My students will appreciate your contribution to helping them learn more about the world.

8 February – I’m thinking about starting a page called "Students Say The Strangest Things"…

I received more snail mail from Carol (Putytat) in California. Carol, my students are so grateful to you for your generosity with all the postcards that you’ve sent. California was one of the places that my students wanted to learn about (now they all want to go there). Thank you very much!

9 February – Back from the internet café. Once again, I wasn’t able to access my email. That place is sooooooooo frustrating. I have so many people I want to email and thank for snail mail sent to me, however, I can’t. To everyone, I am very sorry for not responding, however, it is beyond my control.

I started the page I mentioned I was thinking about on 8 Feb.

On a lighter note, there was a movie on TNT-UK this evening called Instant Indictment. It was about a marine stationed at the US Embassy in Paris who went to visit his sister in Madrid and found out that she had been murdered. The rest of the movie is nothing but fights, car chases, etc. The main character had every possible American stereotype (arrogance, flag waving, demanding, etc.). It probably was never even shown in the USA market, as Americans would think it was really stupid. It had less plot than a Rambo movie! I should have figured that a station that shows WFW Wrestling and the Dukes of Hazard every night would show a move like this.

10 February – FINALLY! I went to the internet café before work today and was finally able to access my email! This is the first time since I’ve been back that I’ve been able to.

13 February – Charles Schultz died last night in his sleep. It was one month and nine days after he announced his retirement in his comic strip. I am glad that he was able to do that before passing away.

There was a special on New York City on BBC this morning. It only showed the very rich and the very poor. It wasn’t done well, however, it was done in typical BBC anti-American style. After watching BBC since November, I can see why Brits that use that as their only source for information on the USA wouldn’t like it. I find BBC to be very biased against America. Rarely do they have anything positive to say. Another example, one of their travel correspondents couldn’t find anything good to say about Vegas or Miami. Also, on their news, they only show bad things that happen, while showing good things about many other countries in the world. Oh well. Their loss.
