For increasing personal Power
Calling upon Freyja and the Disir is
helpful when you feel a need for more
personal power. Perhaps you don't feel
confident about an upcoming meeting of
handling a particularly abrasive person.
Maybe someone has deliberately and
repeatedly torn at you and your
abilities until your self-confidence is
worn pretty thin. Use this ritual to
re-empower yourself.
It is best done at the full moon.
You will need a staff, a sword or
dagger, a mask, and hooded cloak. If you
don't have a cloak, drape a shawl or
even a towel over your head. Don't
bypass this ritual because you don't
have exactly everything listed.
Improvise! Burn jasmine or lotus
incense.
Play instrumental music that speaks to
you of power. Personally I like Wagner's
"Ride of the Valkyries," as it makes me
feel as if I were one with Freyja and
her night-riding Disir. Choose whatever
music you like.
Put on the mask and cloak with the hood
pulled up. Take the staff in one hand,
the sword or dagger in the other. Stand
in the center of your working space and
tap the staff firmly nine times on the
floor.
Call:
"Freyja! Leader of the Disir!
Come to my aid!"
My personal power is fading,
and I would make it strong again!
Raise your sword and say:
"No one has the right to belittle
me!"
"No one has the right to take away my
power!"
"I am your daughter mighty Freyja!"
"Hear my call!"
Turn toward the East and raise your
sword in warning:
"Take warning anyone in the East."
"No longer will you have power over me.
My strength increases, while your
control fades!"
Turn toward the South and raise your
sword:
"Take warning anyone the South,
"I am free of your criticism and your
destructive words,my strength increases,
while your control fades!"
Face the West and raise your sword:
"Take warning anyone in the West.
Any harm you wish me returns to you at
once.My strength increases, while your
control fades!"
Turn toward the North and raise your
sword:
"Take warning anyone in the North,
I am shielded by Freyja and the powerful
Disir.My strength increases, while your
control fades."
Tap the floor nine times with the
staff.
Say nine times:
"Freyja protects! My enemies fail!"
Stand silently while you visualize your
aura becoming filled with brilliant
white light. See this light expanding
until it fills the room, then moves out
even further. Feel this light also
entering your body and mind, making them
stronger and more powerful.
If you have a special talisman or piece
of jewelry that you like to wear, ask
Freyja to bless it and fill it with
power. Then wear it when you have to
face the person who is causing you
problems.
Whenever you have to meet or talk with
the offending people, remind yourself
the you are protected by Freyja. Project
your powerful aura toward them, and
watch them become confused, move away
from you, or simply become more
amicable.
