TRL Kicks Some Ass with Awards
2000 Teen Choice Awards [Aug 22]
Carson beat out Tom Green, Chris Kattan, and Regis for Favorite TV Personality... He was great. Except he was wearing a stupid visor and you couldn't see him. But his speech was interesting. First, he thanked Freddie Prinze, Jr. and Sarah Michelle Gellar "for sitting behind us," which was freaking weird. Parts of the speech in which he thanked his parents, his best friend, his sister, and the TRL producers, included the line "It's been a crazy year." Then he thanked "all the celebrities that are here that have been so gracious to come in and be on the show." Congratulations, Carson!

Favorite Musical TV Show: Total Request Live
Yeah, baby, that’s what I thought.
TRL beat out both Pop-Up Video and Behind the Music to claim the title of Favorite Musical Show. When they announced it Carson was smiling BIG, and all happy and stuff. But the Pop-Up Video guy went crazy and ran up on stage saying he was robbed and what not. He basically humiliated himself. Carson was just all laughing until he was finished. He said it was like being around Kid Rock after he’s had a couple. Trying to make a joke. Oh, Carson, why? It’s all good, though. In his speech, Carson said the award was a “real treat,” that he feels “honored,” and that he must thank all of the “incredible people” who work the show every day. Then he gave a big spiel on the fans and how awesome we are. Then the directors spoke, but they weren’t really as entertaining. Apparently Carson is the “best young host in the business.” Sure, I agree. Congratulations, TRL!
