Important Announcements There will be an eye clinic Friday Feb 2 & 16 at the Eye Clinic for Animals located at 2322 W. Northern, Phoenix. You may call 602-995-2871 for more information and an appointment time. The Arizona Gazehound Club of Phoenix is putting on lure coursing at Estrella Park on Sunday, Feb. 4. The closing date for pre-entry was Jan. 31. We received this information just a few days ago and the only address we have for more information is Julie Conwent at julswhipet @aol.com . They most likely will accept on-site registration. I could find no information on the starting time. The Desert Fun Bunch has applied to AKC for a test and trial for Feb. 17 & 18. REPORT ON THE LURE AND CONFORMATION EVENT OF JANUARY 21 Our event of January 21 held at the Apache Junction Rodeo grounds was a big success. At one time we counted 20 cars and we know we had at least 30 dogs and some puppies. The weather was perfect for running and the dogs had a great time.We wish to extend a special thanks to Tari Parish for coming and serving as judge for ASFA certification, and to Alice Wilson, our conformation judge, big thanks for her support. We all enjoyed the obedience exhibition thatLinda Auld presented with her Basenji. Thanks Linda! We also wish to thank Montz Auto Renditions of Phoenix for supply us with a battery from Continental Batteries for use in the lure coursing event. A family member of Jan Robinson, the Saluki "Willow," got a 3 point major at the Inland Hound Club at Indio, Ca. on Jan. 5, 2001.
