Special announcement: The webmaster had some computer problems and has been unable to update the site for the last two months. He is sincerely committed to keeping this website up-to-date and informative. 

We are proceeding with plans for our BFOGP Specialty being held October 19,

2001 in conjunction with the Kachina All Breed show being held at Estrella

Park. Our committees are being formed and we are looking for volunteers

from our membership and lovers of Basenjis to help put on this one-day

event. If you are interested in helping, please plan to come to our March

meeting or call the Specialty Chairman Joan Koppin at 480-832-0091 and offer

your help.

At our February meeting we welcomed 3 new members. They are Kirk and

Shelley Connot and Nancy Neitzel. We also had the first reading of a

membership request from John Michael Capaldi.

We have received information from the Desert Fun Bunch that they will be

holding AKC lure-coursing trials on the weekend of 14 & 15 April. At this

time we do not have the exact location.

Because of the success of our GymBAhana held January 21st at the Apache

Junction Rodeo Grounds, several members have asked that we have another such

event before it gets too hot for our Basenjis to lure course and do other

fun things. In response to this request-

PLEASE NOTE -THIS IS FOR REAL NOT AN APRIL FOOL'S JOKE.

You will receive a special newsletter before that date with more details

about this great event and what activities are planned besides lure

coursing, so keep your eye on your mailbox and/or e-mail.

SPECIAL REMINDER-YOUR CLUB DUES FOR 2001 ARE NOW DUE AND PAYABLE. IF YOU

HAVE NOT PAID YOUR DUES BY APRIL 1ST YOUR MEMBERSHIP WILL BE DROPPED.

Please pay special attention to the next "page", as it is an application for

our club awards for our Basenjis who have completed their championships in

the areas listed. The awards will be given at the Annual Meeting in June

2001. Please feel free to make copies of the application if you have more

then one dog that is eligible for an award. For those of you

who would like the award application forwarded as an Excel attachment,

please reply to the sending address of this email.

2000 TITLE AWARDS

Each year, members who are the Owner or Breeder of a Basenji that has

successfully completed an AKC, MEX., CAN. Championship, Obedience or Lure

Coursing Title, (ASFA or AKC) are entitled to receive an award plaque, to be

presented at the annual Awards Party. The title must have been completed

during the Year 2000 (between January 1st. and the Yuma / Brawley shows).

If a Junior Handler showed at an AKC point show during this time they will

also receive an award.

Previous recipients who have spaces remaining on their plaque should return

them to Nancy Wilson so the new plates can be attached.

Please complete the form below and return it to Nancy Wilson by May 15,

2001. This form must be turned in to receive an award.
