- Columnaris disease is caused by bacteria called Flexibacter columnaris. These bacteria often exist in an aquarium tank, and fish is susceptible to these bacteria from an injured skin. Therefore, there are several different symptoms. Columnaris is weak in high temperature and acid water. |

- This disease is similar to fungal disease, but it’s easy to distinguish both diseases because Columnaris disease has no fungus in the infected area. |
| - The followings are the typical symptoms.
Fins |
Cory has a tiny red spot in a fin and gill in the first stage. Then dorsal and tail fin are getting ulcerated. It looks like melting. The color and pattern fades away, and cory is out of vigor. |
Mouth |
Cory is inflamed around a mouth, which is swelled. In the worst case, cory’s berbel is gone. |
Gill |
Cory has a red spot around gill, and this inflammation make him hard to breath. |
Skin |
Cory loses a part of his scale, and the color and pattern is getting fade. |
