Alice, Alfred and William all celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversaries - see photo
The 3 villages of Shere, Gomshall and Abinger Hammer in the Tillingbourne Valley are some of the most picturesque in Surrey.
Several descendents of some of these Dowlings still live in the area.
Rose Villa is still there, where George and Maggie managed the water cress beds.
I remember as a child having so much fun there!
