Warning: Posting without a net, this is not beta-ed. Nervous writer in the room, please watch your rocking chairs. Don't run with scissors. Does this mean i have to return Jack and Daniel now?

Daniel continued flipping through the pile of mail on his table, not bothering to suppress a smile at the fractured humming behind him.

"You're supposed to feed the fish not torment them with the Jaws theme and a toy shark," he said in an amused voice.

The tall, gray-haired man stopped waving the toy shark at the frantic fish and glanced across the room at the younger man. "Just making sure the fishies get a healthy workout, lazily swimming 24/7 won't cut it in this day and age."

There was a snort of laughter from the archaeologist, who stubbornly had not turned around to join the fun. Sighing, Jack placed the toy on the shelf and quietly fed the fish their flakes.

/Bill, bill . . . / Daniel started tossing the envelopes on the table, /maybe I should look into an automatic bill paying program, would save a lot of time, not to mention a few trees if I'm lucky./

Strong arms gently wrapped around his waist from behind. Daniel smiled, tossed the rest of the mail on the table and leaned back into Jack's warm embrace. His movements caused Jack to draw him in tighter molding chest to back, thigh to thigh.

"Mmmmm," Daniel sighed, closed his eyes, and dropped his head back to rest on the jersey clad shoulder.

Pressing his lips to Daniel's neck Jack embraced the younger man and inhaled the scent that was pure Daniel, content to just rest in the moment.

Breathing easily in and out the two men basked in the mid-afternoon sun, warmed by its rays, the closeness of their bodies and the peacefulness only found in the arms of one who loves and is loved - body, mind, heart, soul.

Sometimes words and passion eclipse the truth, cast inexplicable shadows on the depths of a bond. The quietest of moments, when lover may rest with lover in silent communion become testimony. No words are needed, only sighs, as soul speaks to soul with complete understanding and peace.

There is love.

There is trust.

Jack has Daniel.

Daniel has Jack.

And in that truth is happiness and life.
