I Don't Like The Drugs {But The Drugs Like Me} In this video, Marilyn's face and hair are completely white. His eyes are red, he's wearing a white body suit and a white scarf. It begins by showing images of a house, a road, a toy bunny, then shows Marilyn (in all his splendor) tied to a cross of t.v. sets. He's hanging on it for a while, people in surrounding houses are staring at him, and men wearing black without heads are coming after him. It shows four people with gigantic, alien-like eyes watching t.v., and the same kind of people are looking at flash cards (we later see that these cars have phrases on them, such as 'the drugs' and 'dope star'). We see some random images of the alien-eyed people, then Marilyn sees the headless people coming after him. He jumps off the cross (which crashes to the ground) and runs. He runs between he buildings in a place that looks like a factory, and then into a hospital. The other band members are sitting around, suffering from various ailments (for example, Twiggy has no legs, and appears to be freezing cold). Marilyn talks to the alien-eyed woman at the counter who tells him to sit down. His left arm is jerking around, like something is wrong with it. (He's singing to the camera at this point, killing some time.) Then the doctor takes him into an operating room, where he just misses the headless people looking for him. They cut off his arm (the left arm, the one that is 'acting up'). (these scenes are being interchanged with scenes of Marilyn crawling through some kind of vent or hall, with only one arm. ) the men keep chasing Marilyn, but they can't get him. He runs onto the set of a t.v. show that seems a lot like Jerry Springer. (Fake information tabs keep popping up. They read 'Mommy and Daddy: My Pimps!,' 'Pregnant From Television,' and 'Live birth... Next!') Everyone on the show is fighting (except Marilyn, who is singing...), and we see that this is the show that the alien-eyed people from the beginning were watching. Then Marilyn is outside running again, at the same factory he ran past before. There is a headless man very close to him. He runs up the stairs that circle those huge tanks (filled with who knows what) and then gets to a sort of catwalk between two of the tanks. Men are coming at him from both sides. He looks at them, tries for a moment to fend them off, then decides to jump. When he hits the ground, the headless people look down at him, and where his body was is now replaced by the t.v. cross, lying flat. the images of his body are on the t.v. screens ( his left arm is still moving involuntarily), but where his face should be, there is only static. The ending image is the alien-eyed people who were watching the t.v. show sitting around and clapping like idiots.

I can't even begin to interpret this video. It is extremely 'out-there.' The only thing I can really speculate on is that his left arm being weird had something to do with the fact that feeling your left arm tingle is the sign of a coming heart attack. Other than that, I think it very much incorporates blind-consumerism. The people were all very spaced out and disconnected. They weren't really paying attention to anything. As far as the headless people, I have no idea.....
