Tourniquet This video is pretty morbid. It starts out with a vulture, and then we see a small part of a character visible throughout the whole video. It's a person (i am unsure about it's gender) with black contacts (totally black) and skin that is flaking off. For reasons of simplicity, I will refer to it as a female. She has no legs, but is like one of those half-mannequins, the torso, arms and head are on top of a pole. (She can roll around, though) Then we see some bugs, and Marilyn looking more than a little insane locked in a room writing on the walls. Then, Marilyn walks into a room where the dancer/mannequin woman is inside a glass box. He kind of hits the walls trying to get in. Right after that, he is in another room, looking at the camera, singing into an extremely small microphone ("she's made of hair and bones and little teeth," etc.). Marilyn is now back in the room with the woman, and he has his hands through an opening in the glass (he's wearing gloves) and is touching the woman's head. Then it shows a small person moving around and kind of convulsing in a place that appears to be lines with some kind of gray fabric (it's not straight, it's kind of waved out). Then, Marilyn is cutting off his fingernails and putting them in a little container. Also, someone (i'm guessing Marilyn) is feeding the woman bugs with tweezers. Marilyn continues to add things to the container by cutting off some of his hair. He also pulls off parts of his skin. Then he's in the room that the small person was in, all curled up and lying there singing. Then he is shaving the hair off his body. Marilyn is shown many times reaching in the glass box and touching the woman, they have some kind of odd relationship. Then we see a little of the rest of the band. It shows one them, he looks up and the view of part of his face is blocked by a bug. This happens with the other three. Then Marilyn is just singing for a little while (pretty much), but eventually, we get to the part where he's in a room, in the corner, standing up, with huge wings spread out behind him. As the lights change color, his body gets small and smaller, like the opposite of a caterpillar coming out of it's cocoon. There is a horse spinning on a platform with confetti in the air. Then Marilyn is in the glass room, and he has now changed, he has black eyes and his skin is flaking off, but he also has these long rope-like things coming out of his mouth. Then the woman is out of the glass box, and she's moving around in this very weird way (kind of jerking herself around sometimes, but other times she appears very graceful). There are some very weird, distorted scenes that include people floating (the band only), the horse again, and some pretty disturbing defects. The short person and Marilyn are now both writing on the walls (and the short person is also writing on Marilyn, who is screaming and punching the wall), and the short person is also pushing the woman around. The video ends with the dancer sort of falling gently in a dramatic way....

I will only interpret one thing. The woman in the glass box. She seems scarred and disgusting and creepy. Marilyn, outside, seems plain and normal. He examines her, and pretty soon her is in the box with her. I think this represents him losing his innocence. He saw something beyond what he knew. He went after it, and it changed him forever.
