Tormenta is one of the most promising groups in the Tejano Industry today. Not only is Tormenta one of the most ambitious groups in Sound Mex, but they are among the most commercial.
Tormenta is composed of the following members:
Rico Pichardo is the drummer for the group. He has been playing drums for several years which makes him an accomplished drummer among his peers and with his experience adds a distinguishable style to Tormenta's music selections. Ismael (Izzy) Hernandez supplies bass for Tormenta, his musical background consists of classical, rock and Tejano music which adds flavor to the groups obvious unique sound. On saxophone is Alfonso Nunez, whether he is playing the alto, tenor saxophone or singing background vocals with his bass voice, this guy's good looks can really get the women going. Julio Morales is the lead vocalist and trumpet player for the group. His charismatic presence on stage combined with his natural and sensual alto voice seals the inner circle the group exsensuates in their performances.
Tormenta is setting new standards across the land with their energetic show and youth directed music. Tormenta is the most exciting group in the Tejano industry today. The group has appeared all across Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Kansas, Florida and California. They also have performed the National Anthem for the San Antonio Spurs at the Alamodome.
Due to their continuous touring and exposure Tormenta members have been made honorable citizens of El Paso, Texas and Espanola, New Mexico. Tormenta has also spent countless hours helping non-profit organizations in San Antonio, their adopted hometown. The Police Organization, P.A.S.S.concerts, Youths Against Violence, and Tejanos for Children, are some of the organizations they have assisted; as well as S.A.L.S.A. (Students Alliance of Latinos Succeeding Academically) in Odessa, Texas.
Tormenta is clearly setting new standards across the south western part of the United States and has now acquired headline status due to their musical talents, choreographed shows, and strict commercialism. Anyone who views this group will constantly remember them as the group who worked hard to give their fans what they paid for, A Solid Good Time.

1993:
* Signed with Capitol EMI
* Released their first CD "Llorando Gotitas De Sangre"
1994:
* Released their second CD "Nos Vemos en el Cielo"
* Filmed an Anti-Violence Video for "Nos Vemos en el Cielo"
* Interviewed on Primer Impacto (international telecast)
* Nominated for "Song of the Year", "Most Promising Band of the Year", "Best Show Band of the Year" at the Tejano Music Awards in San Antonio, Texas.
* Awarded Honorary Ciitizens of El Paso, Texas.
* Released their third CD "Volvi a Sonar"
* Participated in Anti-Violence Festival in San Antonio, Texas
* Participated in Teach The Children Benefit in San Antonio and Uvalde, Texas.
1995:
* Interviewed for FURIA magazine from Mexico.
* Received the Key to the City in Espanola, New Mexico.
* Awarded the "Best CD/Cassette of the Year" and Regional Artist of the Year" at the Annual Hispanic Music Awards in El Paso, Texas.
* Performed for EMILIO'S "Tejanos For Children Benefit".
1996:
* Awarded Sponsorship from Paul Mitchell.
* Released Self Titled CD "Tormenta"
* Nominated for "Most Promising Band of th Year" and "Show Band of the Year" at the Tejano Music Awards, in San Antonio, Texas.
* Performed The National Anthem at the Alamodome for the San Antonio Spurs.
* Performed for EMILIO'S "Tejanos For Children Benefit".
* Performed "Unity in the Community" Benefit Concert with the Barrio Boys, and Naughty By Nature.
1997:
* Performed in front of 20,000 people at San Antonio's Fiesta Oyster Bake
* Interviewed on Onda Max, an International Latin Music Show.
* Performed a three song medly at the 1997 Pura Vida Music Awards.
* Interviewed for FURIA magazine from Mexico.
* Performed in front of 30,000 people with the Pointer Sisters, Tower of Power and Village People, at the Tigua Indian Ysleta Festival in El Paso, Texas.
