Mistakes Lead to Frienship

Mandy's Point of View

"Mom! Help me pick out a bathing suit!" I screamed. The clock said seven thirty and I was just about ready. The jetlang didn't help any, and the difference in time confused me. "Honey, I don't know wear your black two-piece! You look cute in it." My mother answered. "But mommy! I look so fat in it!" "A little chubb doesn't kill!" "Oh god no!" I stared into the mirror, "I have chunk!" "Well chunk it is! Common Mandy its eight o'clock! You promised the Emily and Liz you'd be downstairs." "Oh, well its just us girls, not like I'm going on a date. Bye mom!" With that I grabbed my "Beatles" towel and headed downstairs into the pool area. Of course the girls were already splashing in the water. "Hey Mandy, come in! The water is absolutely fantastic!" Emily called out. Suddenly, some girl ran on the diving board jumped into the pool and made a huge splash. "Hey!" We all screamed in unison. The girl came up from under water but had her back turned to us. I noticed that she wasn't wearing a top. We all snickered. "Why is that chick half naked?" Elizabeth was wondering. "I'll take care of it." I giggled. "Hey miss!" I screamed to her. The girl turned around. "Oh my god!" Emily said aloud. "That's a guy!" "We're very sorry! We thought you were a chick!" I said cracking up. To come to think of it the boy was really cute. Actually, he was hot. With longish dirty blonde hair and baby blue eyes, this kid probably stole a lot of hearts! "You mean…you actually don't know who I am?" He asked surprised. Just then, another blonde guy swam up to us. "Oh my god Tay, someone actually came here with a Beatles towel! Can you believe it? Someone actually besides us likes them!" He said. "That's my towel! I love the Beatles!" I looked up at the second boy. He had longer blonde hair and dark brown eyes. "Well I can't believe you girls don't recognize us!" The blue eyed babe said still with a surprised tone in his voice. "We're…" "No wait, let me take a wild guess!" Liz said. "You're umm…those blonde MMMbop boys! Right?" She screamed with excitement. Both guys smiled. "Yea we're Hanson! MMMbop is so old! I'm Zac and that's my older brother Taylor." The brown-eyed boy shook our hands. "Yep! I'm the supposed chick! Gosh, do I really look like one?" Taylor said. "Hey don't you have a third brother?" I finally remembered who they were. "I'm the third brother!" Came a voice from behind us followed by a giant splash. "I declare war!" Screamed Emily. She held on to the ledge of the pool and kicked her legs. Liz and me did the same. Soon, the three brothers were drowning in enormous waves of chlorine. "All right! Earthlings! Chill out! We come in peace god damn it!" Zac screamed. The scene was hilarious. I looked upon Isaac. Six feet, short brown hair brown eyes, gorgeous! I studied hi every feature as he stood there in the pool just laughing with his eyes closed. When I snapped out of my daydream, Taylor was right in front of me as if he was waiting for some kind of answer. "Huh? What?" I asked confused. "You never told us your name! We already know Em and Liz." "Oh, sorry, I'm Amanda, but you can call me Mandy!" I said with my eyes still focused on Isaac. He didn't seem to notice because he went on flirting with Elizabeth. To tell you the truth, I was a bit jealous. After an hour more of swimming and getting to know each other, we decided to call it a night and meet the next morning in the hotel lobby for coffee. "We'll see you tomorrow girls!" Zac waved and winked at me. Taylor said goodbye and Isaac just waved. He was in his own little world. Although he seemed distant, my heart urged to get to know him better. I couldn't admit to myself that I liked him, but there was definitely potential. "Hey Mandy!" Elizabeth said to me, "would you like to spend the night in our room tonight? We have a huge room!" Liz's idea appealed to me and we decided to meet in a half an our in the hall near the elevator.
