Afternoon Practice

Taylor's Point of View

I sat on my bed thinking and hoping that I didn't hurt Emily's feelings. She was really a wonderful person, but I didn't want to rush into things. Maybe later on in life, something would happen between us, but not now. Not when we were leaving for the rest of our tour in a few days. "Hey Champ! Ready for the concert tonight?" My dad came into the room and petted me on the shoulder. "Not really, but there is no backing out." I gave him a grin. He knew something was wrong but didn't want to bother me. "Okay son, I'll leave you alone." He said and walked out to go and wake up the others. Briefly after dad left, Ike walked into my room. "Hey, dad said you needed someone to talk to, what's up? He wanted to know. "Nothing at all." I lied. My brother knew that something was in fact wrong and tried again. "Common Tay, we have been best friends forever, I know you like the back of my hand, what's bothering you? Finally I spilled my guts. I told him about the fact that I was tired of being popular and complained about the rumors the fans were spreading. I talked about how no one really knew me and at the end I surely told him about Emily and I. "I know what you mean." He said sympathetically. "I knew that you liked Emily from the beginning. I can see it in your eyes, 'cause every time you see her they light up, but if you are not ready for a relationship, I am sure she understood." I was very thankful for Isaac's advise because it gave me some kind of relief. "Now common, Tayminator! It's time to shower." My older brother said. I chuckled because his attempts at jokes were very lame.

It was ten in the morning when everyone was just about ready to go downstairs for breakfast. "Hey dad!" I heard Isaac scream. "What?" "Do we have an extra VIP pass for Liz?" "Yes we do!" Dad yanked a VIP card out of his pocket and gave it to Ike. My brother put it together with the concert ticket into a card, put the card into the envelope and walked off to the twins' room to wish both of them a happy birthday and to give Liz her present. "I have to give Mandy a ticket too!" Zac ran by me with only one shoe on. "Hurry Zachary!" Mom said. Dad handed him a ticket with a VIP pass, and my young wacky brother ran off to give it to Amanda. "Mommy, will Zachy always be that weird?" My little brother Mackie asked. We all smiled. "No sweetie, he is still young, we hope he will change." Mom explained. "Wishes and hopes…" I whispered. A little time passed and both Ike and Zac were back from their ladies' rooms. We were finally getting into the elevator to go downstairs and get breakfast.

After a nice long breakfast, we picked up the girls and headed to the concert arena. "Happy Birthday to me!" Sang Elizabeth, and as always she was off key. "Boy Liz, you must be hyper and happy!" I said. "She is!" Emily answered for her. It was a nice day but I could feel tension. It was all around. "So what are you kids doing after the concert?" Mom asked. "What ARE we doing?" I was wondering. "How about we take YOU guys out tonight?" Emily winked. We all agreed to the idea. Finally we pulled up to the curb of The London Palace Arena. "Damn this place is huge!" Liz exclaimed. "Yea I feel like a shrimp!" Amanda replied! "You're my shrimp!" Zac laughed. Gosh, he acted like a kid sometimes, but we all needed to, one time or another. "Okay see you guys later, you can sit and be our audience!" I said and walked off with my brothers while the girls took their seats for their private concert.
