[.Chapter 15.]
Unforgettable
Emily's Point of View
Eight o'clock came quickly and eight-thirty followed. "Time to wake them up." Liz whispered. "Shh, give them one more minute…" I whispered back. "It's good to be back!" Zac came through the door so sudden that he scared us all half to death. Mandy was behind him. Both Ike and Taylor immediately woke up. "Can you be anymore stupider?" Taylor screamed. Boy was he cranky in the mornings. "Don't call him stupid, it's eight-thirty anyway!" I smacked him upside the head. "Oh my bad." He apologized. "Why don't we all go and pick up your suitcases." Mandy offered. "Yea good idea! Common!" Liz agreed. She knew that Taylor and I needed some time alone. "Bye Em, we probably won't see you again today!" Isaac said and hugged me. "I'll see you again, just watch!" I said. Zac came next. "You're a cool chick!" He smiled. "We were very fortunate to meet you!" "Common guys!" Said Liz rushing every one out of the room.
"My heart is so blue right now." Taylor said after everyone has left. "So is mine." I agreed. There were no explanations needed why we were both so upset. "Tay?" "Yea…" "Can you sing something for me?" "Sure what do you want to hear?" "Can you sing that slow song, you sang at the concert?" "The one four our grandmother?" "No, the friendship one, something about I will come to you." "Oh, that's what it's called, I will come to you." Tay giggled and began to sing. "When you have no light to guide you…" he sang. His voice was angelic. "And no one to walk beside you, I will come to you oh, I will come to you. When the night is dark and stormy, you won't have to reach out for me, I will come to you, oh I will come to you. Sometimes when all your dreams may have seen better days and you don't know how or why, but you lost your way. Have no fear when your tears are falling I will hear your spirits calling and I swear that I'll be there come what may!" He finished. "I don't think you wanted to hear the whole song." A smile crawled across my face. "That was beautiful." I clapped. "Aww thank you!" He blushed and pulled me into a hug. I pulled away and looked deep into his eyes. I could tell so much by them. I knew that he felt the same as I did. I also knew that if he could change things he would. But he had a career and he loved music and I was trying to respect that, as hard as it was. "Emily, you don't know how bad I want to kiss those sweet lips of yours, but I can't. It would be too depressing to feel them one-minute and not the next. Our friendship means a lot to me and I will do everything and anything possible to keep in touch. I heard what Liz whispered in Ike's ear. Stay golden. I mean it from the bottom of my heart." Taylor said. I understood what he meant. I would give everything for my lips to touch his, but it would be too painful. The clock read nine. Without a single word Taylor and me got up and walked to the elevator. The ride downstairs was silent. "I'm gonna go find my family." Was all Taylor said when the elevator door opened. I stepped out into the lobby. "This has been unforgettable." I heard myself say. "Yea, but Hansons don't cry!" Taylor forced out a weak smile. As we hugged, I felt the whole world around us stop. Not one word was said as Taylor began to walk away. "No matter what odds will come against us, and no matter how many miles will be parting us we will beat them" I said into thin air as a lonely tear crawled against my cheek.
