Stay Golden
Elizabeth's Point of View
Nothing special happened the day after. The day before the guys were leaving we went swimming and to a few museums. That night I lay for long sleepless hours wondering. What was going to happen? Were Ike and me gonna stay friends or was this one of those friendship fling kind of things? "Liz are you asleep?" My sister asked quietly. I could hear that she had been crying. "No come tell me what's bothering you." I said. She slowly got up and sat on the edge of my bed. "Liz?" She asked. "Sweetie…what's wrong?" I said. "It's Taylor," she whispered. "What about Taylor?" "They are leaving tomorrow…not even, because it's three in the morning. They are leaving in a few hours." My sister sobbed. "Aww, it's all right sweetie, I know what you feel, I have been thinking about this for quite a time now, why do you think I'm not sleeping?" I took my sister and pulled her into a huge bear hug. "I mean, I really like him, he is such a cool person! Liz what's gonna happen after they leave? Do you think we'll stay friends? Will they forget about us?" Em went on. She was so upset but so was I. "Of course they will remember us? Common on, who can forget this beautiful face?" I grabbed her cheeks and right away she smiled through tears. "Tell you what, why don't you go put on your robe, and we'll go take a walk to the lobby get some coffee and then to the guys' room!" I offered. "Liz, it's three!" "So? Common, let's go!" I grabbed my sister's hand and made her get up. We both put on matching robes and went downstairs. The only thing that was setting us apart now was Emily's curly hair. "Is the coffee shop still open?" I asked the hotel clerk on duty when we got downstairs. "Sure, it's open twenty-four-seven!" He smiled. "Great thank you!" Emily said. "Do you really think they will remember us?" My sister asked while taking a sip of her coffee. "Do I ever say anything I'm not sure of?" I said. No more questions were needed. I was a thousand percent sure that we would keep in touch with the guys and that everything would be perfect. After coffee Em and I headed upstairs to Ike Tay and Zac's room. We didn't even need to knock. The door was wide open and the lights were on. "Did you guys know we were coming?" I asked. There was no response. We both came in and found no one there. Their suitcases were packed and stood near the door. The beds were made. "Well at least we know they didn't leave yet!" I smiled. "Maybe they couldn't sleep and went up to our room!" Emily shrugged. And she was right. When we got to our suite, the door was also open and the lights were on. "Hello!" I called out. "Peekaboo!" Zac jumped out. "Hey we're right here!" Came Isaac's voice from inside. Emily came in first then I did and shut the door behind us. "Do you guys do this often?" I asked. "Do what often?" Tay wanted to know. "Break into other peoples' hotel rooms!" I said. "The door was open and we all couldn't sleep so we came to visit you." Zac explained. My sister and me giggled and told the guys how we couldn't sleep either and went out to get cups of coffee and then went to their room where we found no one. "Exactly what time are you leaving?" Emily asked. "At nine." Taylor answered. I knew he was as upset as Em. He really did like her and I remembered the time I grabbed his hand in the amusement park. I felt guilty. After we exchanged addresses and phone numbers it was already six. "Three more hours…I'm gonna go wake up Mandy." Said Zac. "See you guys!" He waved and ran off. "Be back by eight-thirty!" Ike screamed. "Personally I am very sleepy!" Taylor said and put his head on Emily's pillow. "You mind if we crash here?" Ike asked us. I didn't mind and Emily didn't either. "What time should we wake you up?" "Eight thirty." Taylor murmured under his breath. Both the boys were already half asleep. I sat on my bed besides a sleeping boy with wavy blonde hair. "You're golden." I whispered quietly. "Stay that way." I kissed him on the cheek and looked up at my sister who was sitting on her bed besides Taylor and holding back tears.
