So apparently that little bit of trash wasn't enough to disgust  you, perhaps the real biography will...

It started back in the hazy days of 1997, when Logan Bongiovanni met Brian Pampaselle (Ble9k) in an art class at Western High, in Anaheim, CA. Who knows what truly brought them together (probably insatiable lust for each other), but the two soon became close friends, and in  seeing a mutual bond in the realm of music, they did what every other teenager did during high school: They formed a band.

With Logan on vocals and lyrics, and Brian on guitar and arranging, the newly christened American Vampire (click here to find out why they picked that name) began to take shape. Straying from the conventional four-piece of drums, bass, guitar and vocals most bands collapse into, AmVamp decided to cut through the extraneous excess and stick to the basic nucleus of just the two main members (much like Savage Garden to an extent) with the help of a Boss DR-770 Drum Machine (the veritable third member) and the support of many talented and well-known musicians.

After a slight hiatus in 1998-99, AmVamp came back with a vengeance with 11 new songs that ranged from melancholy to aggressive, from searing to beautiful. Utilizing such momentum, the boys decided to record a demo for their new found and apparently deaf fans. Recorded with multi-talented musician and engineer Wayne Hays, 'Leitmotif Be Damned (act one)' was a stunning achievement for their first outing in the recording studio.

Early in October of 2001, Amvamp permanently shortened their name and is more than proud to confuse the small gathering of fans we had to begin with.

Unlike most groups, AmVamp combines what's best of the music that interests them and makes it into their own unique (and repulsive) blend, with a live show that captivates and angers most fans. We here at amvamp.com believe that's because fans love the amazing band and want to be in AmVamp so badly.  But you can't...so there!

In Short, Amvamp is:

Logan Bongiovanni -- lyrical devastation, sociopathic vocals

Brian Pampaselle -- Guitar variation, malignant arrangement, cynical production, desperate drum programming

Dr. 770 -- peaceful timekeeping, dramatic drumming
