I'm walking down an empty hall
Crying out an empty heart
Searching for an empty wish
Trying to hold onto an empty hand
As empty promises echo from the walls
Back to my heart
That feels so alone
Hiding from the truth
The killing truth
I'm alone, it seems
Crying out in an empty room
Where no one can ever hear me
Struggling with the lies
Told each day
The comforting lies
Why can't the truth be as fulfilling as lies?
Why do I cry
When I know the truth?
The truth tears me away
From this so-called reality
In my mind I see an empty fantasy
Where nothing goes wrong
Where everything I've ever needed
Is right there to take
But I must face this empty life
Each day
Going on alive
Is something I always wish for
