These were added on May 18, 2001. =) Like that was hard to figure out....

Written May 14, 2001. This was required to write for my Honors Algebra 2 class..Mrs. Madison, the teacher *duh =)*, gave us a list of words and we had to choose 8 of them, and make a poem of at least 15 lines..so the italicized words are the ones that I chose..=) Get it? Lol Okay I'll shut up now =)

These feelings are unfamiliar territory to me
They lie perpendicular in a parallel heart
Your life doesn't lie congruent to mine
I'm trying to send you an understanding
A translation of my soul
An unsolved equation
Seeking no true formula
Search, and ye will never find
Knock, and no one is home
This constant rotation
Circling a heart that has yet to open
I scream into a world of hollow emotions
It's nothing but a pyramid of lies
You're left to search for the truth
One day, I know you'll find it
Just as long as you continue to search for me

To express the light in your eyes?
Is there another heart
Lying within your hands?
Do you hold it
Love it
And lean on it?
Do you depend on it
To give you life?
Is there a wish
That whispers from your lips?
And only your soul contains the understanding
Will you set it free?
Allow it to fly
In a circle of frantic cries?
Trying to reach the one heart
That will understand as you do
Don't piece together a lie
That fits into the cracks
Creating a wall that will break with one scream
What do you dream?
When you close your eyes
What do you see?
Is there a world where you hold a place in a soul?
A soul that remains unknown
Do you ever wonder
What tomorrow will bring forth?
Or do you continue to be glued to those lies?
Why can't I?
Let me speak
And tell you why

Written May 17, 2001..Once again in Spanish class. Actually, that's where most of my poems this year were written lol Strange place, I know =) but they got written...right?

Don't lie to me
In a mushroom cloud of haze
A halo of weakened dreams
Sending me on a chase of holed up fantasies
Send me to your world
Let's glow in the light
We'll wrap ourselves up in dreams of satin
Create a pillow of hopes for me to lie upon
I'll close my eyes and see a world of color
The sun will shine with newfound brilliance
As we swim to the shore of promises
The stars smile down on us
In a life of happiness
Pushing away the blind spots
Grabbing hold of the light
Shrinking down to nothing but a place to be stepped on
Save my soul
Let me see
Don't let the future cloud up with excess wantings
The capacity of my heart
Lies within a shelled up smile
Lying to the universe
As I search for the clouds
To cover up my pain
One more scream
My throat bleeds with hurt
The haze takes me away again
Flying on stars of dreams
Where nothing could ever fall down
The light grows dim
No heat left to feel
Talk no more
Let me live with my hopes
