Meet our Directors
Ms. Jenny Collins
Director of Bands
Jenny L. Collins, originally from Millstone, Kentucky, received her
Bachelor of Music Education degree from Morehead State University in
Morehead, Kentucky where she studied conducting with Dr. Richard Miles
and saxophone from Mr. Eugene Norden. She received her Masters of Music
Education from Wichita State University in Wichita, Kansas, where she
studied conducting with Dr. Victor Markovich and Dr. Larry Blocher, as
well as saxophone with Ms. Jean Lansing.
Ms. Collins was first employed by the Whitley County School
District, in Williamsburg, Kentucky, as a middle and high school band
director. During this time, she served as K.M.E.A. District 10 Band
Chair and Treasurer of the Bluegrass All-Region Band.
Her professional affiliations include the Music Educators National
Conference, Women Band Directors International, South Carolina Band
Directors Association, Sigma Alpha Iota Professional Music Fraternity, and
Tau Beta Sigma Band Sorority.
