The Castle Band is an energetic, creative band that blends successfully the many styles of Irish traditional music with rhythms and structures not native to the music. The musicians within the band are incredibly capable and brilliant in each of their own respects. But it is the outstanding vocals that balance this mixture as no band before.

In the fall of 1999 a band formed in the backroom of a historic bar in Milwaukee. David Delgado met Steve Wurcer at an impromptu session at Nash's Irish Castle, and an energetic combination was formed that would soon prove to be a brilliant energy. David and Steve soon began performing for set dancers on a regular basis and the band was formed. Holly Kolanko, a close friend of David's since the two competed in Ireland in 1995, soon joined the group adding a lovely voice and to the energetic music.

The History

On July 7, 1956, Kit and Josie Nash came to America to raise their family. Less than 20 years later, in 1977, they established a bar called Nash's Irish Castle and it has been a fixture of the Irish community ever since. Nash's Irish Castle has been the site of many historic groups, not just the Castle Band. Groups such as the Chieftans, Altan, and the Armagh Rhymers have visited and played at Nash's throughout the years.
