It just quarter to 7pm when I finally got to see Fox again. I saw him and one of his brothers. I practically ran to them, not even knowing which it was. I hugged Fox from behind.
"Hey baby... shit, you look so good." he told me again, and Tony, who it was, nodded,
"Well, so do you both of you. Where's Luke?" I asked them.
"He found Aaron's dancers and he's hanging with them. He should be here in a second though." Tony told me. I nodded.
I noticed that Fox hadn't let go of my hand yet. I smiled at him, but he looked sort of sad. And I needed to know why.
"What's wrong, baby?" I asked him, whispering.
"Nothing. I'm just really siked to be here, you know?" he told me. But I knew that wasn't it.
"C'mon, I think we have a few minutes..." I said, pulling him away from the rest of the group.
We sat down on a couch, and I just looked at him right in the eyes. He smiled sadly.
"You really wanna know what's wrong, don't you?" he asked.
"Yeah, I do." I replied.
"Ok... I was just thinking, you look really beautiful tonight, I mean you always do, but right now, you look so sexy... and I just don't want all these famous guys hitting on you and flirting with you. You're mine... and you know how jealous I get when-" he started. I stopped him.
"Foxy, don't worry about that. You know I love you, alot, and I don't want anyone else in the world, just you." I told him, shutting him up.
"I know... I know... but-" he said.
"Foxy, you're going to be right next to me all night." I told him.
"No I'm not. Not when you're backstage." he replied.
"Don't worry. The girls will make sure no guys hit on me." I laughed. He nodded.
"I'm sorry I brought this up. Let's go out there and have an awesome night!" he finished, and we stood up.
*Half an Hour Later*
It was a little after 7pm, when we were all seated. We all basically took up a whole row. It went Dare, Joey, Cher, Marce, me, Fox, Luke, Tony, Jamal, Trevor and then Jimmy. We knew that Aaron and his mom and sister were a few rows behind us, but we didn't know where anyone else was. I was basically shaking, and Fox noticed.
"You nervous, baby?" he asked me, knowingly.
"I guess. I mean, shouldn't I be?" I whispered. He nodded. "We're going to introduce O-Town in like an hour, on live television." I continued.
"You'll do awesome, all of you. I'll be down here screaming your name." he joked.
"Thank you so much, Foxy, I love you." I whispered again. Then I leaned down close to him and kissed his soft lips.
"I love you too." he replied, when I pulled back. But I just kissed him again.
"Awww... look at our little love bugs." Luke laughed, talking to Tony.
"They are so cute." Tony agreed.
"Yeah, but unless you want to be making out on live television, I suggest you stop kissing." Marce budded in. I let out a laugh and pulled back.
"Marce's right. That might make us look bad. Sorry baby." I whispered to Fox. He just grinned and held my hand tightly.
*Almost an hour Later; 8pm*
I was still shaking with nervousness and excitement, when the front lights shot on and two people walked centre stage. I knew who they both were right away. Rosie O'Donnel and Carson Daly. I heard Joey squeal happily. The show was starting.
"Hello and welcome to the 1st Annual Tampa Pop Music Awards !" Carson yelled cutely. "I'm Carson Daly, and this is my wonderful Co-host Rosie O'Donnel."
"Hi! I'm very excited to be hosting the show with Carson tonight. And I met a few people backstage already, and pop people are so nice!" Rosie said with a laugh.
"Yeah, I agree." Carson laughed with her. "Anyway, let's get this party started! Our first performers of the show are a group that millions of girls scream and cry over. And this is why! Here's NSYNC!" Carson finished.
We watched NSYNC's performance excitedly. They are really talented guys.
After that was the award for "best new single". Our single wasn't released soon enough to be able to be in this catagory. There was NSYNC, Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears and Vitamin C. Christina won! We were so happy for her!
Next was the award for "best new video". It was funny because I made a bet with Nick that their video The Call would win, and he said it wouldn't. But, guess what? It did. When Nick and the guys walked by us to accept the award, Nick grinned at me adorably. I just let out a laugh, because no one else knew about our "bet".
We were rushed backstage right after that, during the commercial. I barely had time to kiss Fox before I left. Backstage we talked to BSB, Christina, Joey and Chris from NSYNC and we met up with O-Town, who were just getting ready to go on.
When we came back from the commercial, a loud voice said,
"Welcome back to the 1st Annual Tampa Pop Music Awards! Now please welcome Cruel Sensation!"
We all took deep breaths, and walked to the centre of the stage. I took another deep breath, as we were cued to start. I had to talk first.
"We feel very honored to be standing here, infront of a couple million people, on live television, don't we girls?" I asked the girls.
"Oh yeah, it's really amazing!" Joey answered my question.
"And we're also very honored to introduce the next performers." Marce said, stepping up to the mic.
"Just like us, they are newcomers to the music business. But they are also filled with talent." Dare said with a smile.
"You probably watched them last year on a show called Making the Band." Cher finished.
"Here is O-TOWN!" the five of us screamed together.
Then we waited until they started their song, Liquid Dreams, and then we ran off the stage. Backstage we met up with Aaron, for the first time that day.
"Hey girls!" he screamed, hugging us all. "You did so good."
"Thanks buddy, what are you getting ready to do?" I asked him.
"I'm just hanging out backstage! It's so fun!" he replied.
"Don't you wanna be watching the show?" Marce laughed.
"I was watching it from the moniter for awhile. But just being here and meeting all these people, it's wicked!" he replied. We all nodded, knowing what he meant. We felt the exact same.
About half an hour later, we got to go onstage again. We were presenting the award for "best male pop group". The nominees were BSB, NSYNC, 98 degrees and B4-4. Although we were hoping BSB would win, there was a chance they wouldn't. I was shaking when I ripped open the envelope to reveal the winner.
"Oh my God, it says Backstreet Boys!" Joey whispered happily.
"And the winner is..." Marce began.
"Our tourmates, the Backstreet Boys!" I screamed before the other girls could.
We were so excited as we watched the five guys get out of their seats and walk to the front. They walked up the stairs quickly and ran over to us, centre stage.
"AHHHHHHH!" Nick yelled and hugged me tightly.
Then we hugged them all and they took over the mic.
"Wow, we weren't really expecting to win this. The other groups are great!" Howie said first. "I guess we'd like to thank God first of all, without him we wouldn't be here."
"And we want to thank our management, the Firm, our tour promoters, Evolutions, and everyone we've worked with." Kevin continued.
"How 'bout Tampa?" Nick asked. "Should we thank Tampa?"
"Yeah, without Tampa there would be no Tampa Awards Show, so THANK YOU TAMPA!" Brian laughed.
"And lastly we should thank all the fans, we love you!" AJ yelled.
Then the crowd went nuts as we all walked off the stage together, and backstage again.
