MESSAGE FROM THE EDITOR
The
Five Star Service has always been an independently run fanzine
dedicated to the career of Five Star. For the past seven years we have
made it our mission to inform Five Star fans of all the latest Five Star
news, provide them with reviews, exclusive photographs, trivia and a range
of original features covering the 20+ year career of Five Star. Our magazine
was sent out to fans all over the world, whether they had access to the
internet or not, and for some fans, TFSS was the only way to hear about
Five Star.
However,
on Saturday March 20th 2004 we received an email from Buster Pearson, Five
Star's manager, telling us to cease publication.
As
a fanzine, dedicated to a group in the public domain, we have every
right to carry on writing about Five Star and using our own original
material (be it written or photographic material, of which we own the copyright)
to provide features for a magazine, but the point is that after this, we
no longer want to.
If
we cannot work to support Five Star, and our support is just
not wanted by them, then there is no point in continuing with TFSS.
After all the time, effort, enthusiasm and cost it has taken to provide
numerous Five Star fans across the world with issues of The Five Star Service,
we are very disappointed to have to have made a decision to cease publication.
We
know that there are lots of people out there who would be very happy for
us to continue producing The Five Star Service, and we are very sorry to
have to let all of you down like this.
We
always aimed to provide a magazine that was different to the Five Star
websites and had something that fans would enjoy reading and really appreciate.
We hope we achieved it, and are sure, in our minds, that we did.
The
Editor would like to take this opportunity to thanks everyone who has supported
TFSS over the last seven years. Thank you for your support. It really
has been appreciated.
love
Michael
And
for those who didn't support us . . . . . it's your loss.

CONTACTING TFSS
If
you have anything to ask us, or if you want to contact us then please email
us at silvester494@freenet.co.uk
or write to us at our postal address. We really would like to hear from
all TFSS subscribers - I've always counted lots of you as friends, and
certainly don't want to lose contact with you.
>Q)
I have subscribed to TFSS, and still have some more issues left on my subscription
after TFSS 18. Will I receive a refund?
>A)
Unfortunately NO refunds will be given. However, your subscription will
be honoured and we will complete your subscription. Please contact us for
details. You will not lose out.
>Q)
I have ordered TFSS 18. Will I receive it?
>A)
If you have ordered TFSS within the last 14 days then you will receive
the issue that you have ordered.
>Q)
Can I still subscribe to TFSS?
>A)
Sadly not. The only issues we have left in stock are issues 17 and 18,
so we can not provide a four issue subscription any longer.
>Q)
Will you be relaunching TFSS in the future?
>A)
No. It is time for us to put our support and enthusiasm somewhere where
it is appreciated.
>Q)
What will happen to TFSS OnLine?
>A)
TFSS OnLine will remain as a website. Whether it will be updated or not,
depends on a number of things. At the moment, this looks unlikely, but
as we have a wealth of unpublished features and photos from TFSS, you never
know.
>Q)
What will happen to you?
>A)
I have a number of projects lined up for 2004 onwards. At one time or another
TFSS would have had to have come to a close, and I am sorry it has happened
like this, but I certainly have lots more things to keep me busy and now
I have even more time to do them!
>Q)
Are you still a Five Star fan?
>A)
Good question. Let me get back to you on that.
