North of South
is a group with a Style characteristic of the late 1950's - early 1960's
Folk Music Revival.
Consisting of four guys who love singing in harmony,
we accompany ourselves on acoustic guitars, banjo, electric bass, and other
instruments. For over five years on a regular basis we have been getting
together, recreationally to sing and play songs that we like. The lyrics
of the music we like to sing, paint pictures, tug at our heart strings,
make us laugh and cause us to reflect. The songs selected for the tapes
cover a broad spectrum. These are songs of the world about love and lost
love, life and death, protest and celebration. These tapes are part of
a continuing "work in progress" as we explore the music that has influenced
and entertained us in the past, present and hopefully will entertain you
well into the future.
Done in North of South's own unique style, you
will hear ballads, bluegrass, gospel, campfire and sing-a-long songs. We
hope that these songs will entertain you as they have entertained us throughout
the years.
