Orgy concert in San Diego on 9-21-00

Soooo.... we get into San Diego... me, VikkiSixx, Angel, Lydia, Tony, Richard & Daisy. We leave our shit at our hotel room and go see where the friggin place is. It's still daytime so we just drive by... we grab a bite to eat at Jack in the Box, roam around downtown SD for a while, and then back to the hotel room to get ready. When everyone is all prettiful and made-up, we go back to the venue, stopping first at Sav-on to get some film and some alcoholic beverages, where we're all stared at like we're from another fucking planet.
We get to the venue and walk up from behind and the *first* person we see is Paige. Lydia and me freak out so we go over and immidiately start flashing our camera. After everyone had taken a picture, VikkiSixx and Tony strike up conversation with him cause they both talk too much, *and* Vikki was wearing her Nightmare Before Christmas shirt and they got into conversation about *that*. The rest of us go check out how long the line is. It's not too long but we stay in place anyway. Lucky me, I was surrounded by little people.
So while Vikki and Tony are kicking it by the bus, Ryan comes out. They start flashing the camera again. Angel and Richard are roaming between the bus and the line cause they both wanna see Jay. Of course, Jay doesn't come out.
Anyway, after a million years of waiting outside, we get into the place and it's really frickin small, it's about the size of a Starbucks or something... they're playing "white pony" by the deftones over the speakers and not too many people are inside yet. We rush up to the front and we're about 6 or 7 people from the stage.
Crazy Town took the stage after about half an hour of waiting and little by little most of us find our way to the front. Crazy Town was pretty badass, they had a shit load of energy and kept spraying water on everyone which was cool cause it was hot as fuck in there.
When they were done, we were standing around forever and ever... which was beyond irritating cause I was surrounded by a bunch of little girls and bois that didn't know how to do their fucking makeup and were pissing me off, quite frankly.
2 MILLION YEARS and 2 times through "white pony" again, Orgy finally hits the stage. Their set was these sheets of silver-glittery-material and they had some spotlights and lasers all over the place. They came out to the intro 'vapor transmission'. First out was Ryan, then Bobby, then Paige, then Amir. They put their instruments on and kinda stood there watching the crowd for a while, nodding to the music. By that time, VikkiSixx, Lydia, Daisy and Richard had found their way to the front, maybe 1 or 2 people behind the bar. People start screaming and I look out this side door in the back and Jay is jumping up and down outside, warming up, I guess.
A few seconds later, he's on the stage and they open with "Suckerface". Somehow, me and Angel shove our way to the front so we're 1 person behind the bar, right smack in front of Paige, Amir and Jay (most of the time). I felt someone literally pick up my arm and move it behind them and I'm like WTF and I look and it's VikkiFuckingSixx... so yay, we found each other. So Amir's totally kicking ass on the synth, Paige is kinda in the back but swinging that fucking bass all over the place (he messed up *once* during the first song... and frowned all prettiful and kept going... not that I was looking =P), Ryan is all the way on the other side of the small ass stage and I'm sorry to admit, I wasn't looking at him as much as I was watching Paige and Jay. I was also tripped out cause Jay had the lyrics taped to the floor. VikkiSixx is staring at Amir 90% of the time, Angel and Richard are fucking creaming over Jay, Daisy and Lydia are just out there somewhere. Bobby was beating the shit out of the drums like it's not even funny and they all have SO MUCH energy it was amazing! Jay is jumping around the stage, hitting one of Bobby's cymbals every now and then. During the entirity of the song, he went over and kissed Paige's head (the most adorable smile from Paige followed), pulled back Amir's hair (gently... and the most sexy smile followed *that*) AND Ryan's hair ( I think it tripped Ryan out a lil bit, he looked surprised). Shit load of interaction that made me believe that they were happy to be playing again.
Er, sometime during the 2nd song, which was 'dissention', Jay trips over a cable right in front of us... I hear someone laugh really fucking loud and I look and of *course* it's Vikki. lol. Angel and Richard give her a dirty look while Jay looks irritated with himself. Jay has his eyebrows drawn in when they came out but by 'dissention' they were pretty much gone. He wasn't wearing too much makeup, just foundation, which was dripping off his chin in a sweat-makeup mixture. Sorta gross. At one point, Jay stuck his long-ass E.T looking middle finger right in Paige's face and Paige returned it with his not-so-long middle finger... Paige has small feet too. =P
The rest of the show was equally as amazing, Jay was busting out with his mad mic skills, whipping it around like it's not even funny... He and Paige made the most eye contact that night, mostly with us in the front row. He was being really interactive with the crowd... at one point, he said the next song would be the name of their 2nd video... then was like "what was the name of our second video?" and someone yells "FICTION" and he looks at that person like WTF and holds up 2 fingers and was like "2nd video! 2nd!" and then mocked the guy, pretending to do some sign language shit and it was fucking hilarious.
Before they played Blue Monday, Jay asked the people what they wanted to hear... I'm yelling "platinum", the chick beside me was yelling "pantomime", VikkiSixx was yelling "dizzy" and I was totally oblivious to where everyone else was... the girl next to vikki said "revival" and Jay was like "No, we can't play that, Jon Davis isn't here."... so then they play Blue Monday and the pit goes fucking crazy. Sometime during the song, Jay's earpiece is fucking up and he changes it a couple times before saying fuck it and throwing it to the side... so he fucked up the lyrics a lil bit, which I found amusing, cause dude, it's Blue Monday.. he grew up with that song, wtf? Anyway. At the end of Blue Monday, he busts out with "you spin me round" by Dead Or Alive and everyone goes insane... more so... and afterwards they leave the stage, but the lights don't come on so people start yelling for them to come out...
20 seconds later, they come out again, most of them with ciggs in their mouths, and end with "eyes" ... I admit, I probably knew the lyrics more than Jay did, he messed up quite a bit but it's all good they haven't been playing the new songs for too long so it's understandable. After that though, they're done and they leave the stage. The played these songs (not all in order) - Suckerface (1st), Dissention (2nd), Opticon, 107, Fetisha, Stitches, Where's Gerrold, Gender, Fiction, Blue Monday (2nd to last) and Eyes(last).
While people are clearing out, we stand around for a while, finding each other and whatnot, sweaty as fuck cause it was HELLA hot in there. We were all in the front except for Tony who was kicking it at the bar for most of the time... Everyone's just talking and talking while people are moving around us, looking for lost belongings on the floor... We then go over to the tables where they were selling shirts, they were all pretty nifty and a decent price, I guess. Everyone buys a shirt and by then security was telling people the way out...
So we go outside and wander over to IHOP again for something to drink... we climb into a booth and realize that the booth next to us is full of Orgy roadies and members of Crazy Town, which was rather surreal... After that we wander back over to the tour bus area. We kinda waited around for a while... somewhere along the way, Paige came out and we talked to him a lil longer, then Ryan was out too and Tony talked to him a bit... finally Amir came out and VikkiSixx and Lydia rush over and talk a bit with him, give him hugs and everything. There was this puddle of cream around Vikki, I dunno anything about *that* tho, lol... Angel and Richard, being the superfags they are, waited around for Jay but he didn't come out and they were all sad. Well, he came out but we didn't wait around that long and I hear he wasn't really socializing with people too much. Anyway, after a while, we were dead so we headed back to the hotel room... and yeah.. fuck, im finally done.
