Hey, I'm the old man of the group and I want to tell you little about myself. I have been married 23 years and have two daughters, Tanya who is 21 and Tamara 17. I was saved when I was 11 years old.I have been singing most of my life. The first group I sang with was when I was 12 years old. I sang with the Hicks Trio it was made up of my sister Debbie, my mother Alice Mae and myself. Then when I was 15 years old we added a bass singer and became The Hicks Quartet. We bought a bus. We cut our first record the title of it was WHEN I STEP OFF ON THAT BEAUTIFUL SHORE. When I was 16 years old I started dating Kathy. Three years later on June 17, 1977, when I was 19 and Kathy was 17, we got married. We were still singing on April 2, 1980, when Tanya was born. Not long after I decided I wanted to quit singing. Time past and we had our second child, Tamara, on March 2, 1984. In 1985 we started singing as the Singing Heirs. It was made up of Kathy, Debbie, my sister, Marty McPherson and myself. During this time I was fighting my preacher calling. October of 1986 I told my preacher calling. We decided to quit singing again. Then on October 1995 I was ordained to the full work of ministry and became the pastor of Buffington Baptist Church. I stayed there for two years. In February of 1999 my family went in the studio and cut our first tape. I guess when you been singing Southern Gospel Music for over 30 years, it's in your blood. The Lord has blessed us with voices to sing and for me to preach his word to the lost. My goal is to sing and to tell everyone that YOU MUST BE BORN AGAIN. In my bible, that is the only way you can get into HEAVEN. We need your prayers that the Lord will open doors for THE HICKS FAMILY and help us lead the lost to Christ.We will pray for you and please pray for us. Your Friend in Christ, Danny
