Canada! My Canada!

My first band trip! I was so excited! We flew to Oregon and then spent two nights there and then, on to Canada. We usually have a competition or something when we go on these trips. Well, we didn't. We had an army band talk to us. the only thing that I learned from that little experience was how fast you have to run a mile to get a weekend off. I was really surprised. Another good reason why i am not in the military.

We had the coolest bus driver. His name was Elijah. He was probably 6' 5". Black as night. And, he had a mild case of emphysema. Not to mention the coolest laugh in the world. He was so nice to us.

The hotel that we had didn't like us. In fact, they kicked us out. Which wouldn't have been a big problem because we wer moving onto Canada that day, but, the last night we were supposed to stay there, too. Luckily the administration convinced the hotel managemane to let us come back.

I loved Canada almost as much as Australia. I loved the poeple, the beach, the sea. I loved it all. We met some of the coolest people! Like the two shoe shine people in the street that were shiningshoes to get money to like go across the country or something. I loved their accents as well.

The last night that we were there we were heading back from something and suddenly the bus started driving really funny. Teh bus had a flat tire. It was about 10:00 and we were almost all asleep. But, this woke us up. About 5 minutes after we had stopped moving a police officer boarded out bus and talked to the driver. I got a picture of the police officer. There was a small gas station about a mile down the road from where we had landed. So, we made our way carefully with the police escort to the station. Another bus from our group had come with us. So, we were stranded at this gas station until 2:00 in the morning playing cars and talking.

Of course, we didnt' know ho lucky we were until we went into the gas station. Inside were two of the largest ladies that I have ever seen. One had a beard whil the other ione was so "large" that when she puched a key on the cash register with her left hand, her right hand jiggled. Some of the people were upset that we were stranded. But, I thought that it was GREAT!
