(In the dark, the others can hear the door being opened and then a
thud)
Katy: Scott? Are you OK? (He doesn't answer) Scott!
(Katy tries to find her way to the door to try to find him)
Donna: Katy? Is he OK?
Scott: For fucks sake, I'm fine! Will you get off me! (Pushes Dave off of him
where he fell onto him)
Dave: Sorry... (He pushes the door shut with his foot. Scott jumps up and
glares angrily at him. Donna catches his eye and his expression
softens) I thought I saw you guys come in here.
Aaron: What? Did you see that person in the scream mask too?
Dave: (Stricken) Huh? What person in a scream mask?
Katy: Scott saw someone in a scream mask chasing us.
Donna: You didn't see him?
Dave: No.
Scott: So he's not out there any more?
Dave: I didn't see him. (Sarcastically) Maybe you were seeing things.
Scott: Yeah, sure I...
Donna: (Quickly) Well, lets hurry up and try to find the others if he has gone.
But we better be extra careful.
(They leave the room)
Katy: Where are we going to go then?
Aaron: Well, I don't think going back the way we came is a good idea.
Dave: I reckon Scott made it up anyway.
Scott: What!
Dave: You probably made it up..to cover the fact that it's actually you!
Donna: Dave...
Scott: Yeah, well I reckon it could be you, springing from out of nowhere!
You weren't along that corridor when we went in the room!
Katy: (Putting her hands to her ears) Guys! Stop it! I'm sick of you arguing
all the time! If you both fancy Donna then why doesn't one of you do
something about it instead of taking it out on each other and everyone
else!
(Scott goes a deep pink colour and looks down at the floor. Dave
glances embarrassed at Donna who has also gone a deep shade of
pink)
Aaron: Katy, will you calm down? We're gonna be fine!
Donna: (Recovering from her embarrassment) Why don't we go back
downstairs? They've got to be around somewhere.
(They go downstairs and go into the canteen where Bob and Natalie
are sitting)
Dave: Are you guys OK? We've been looking for you everywhere!
Bob: Yeah. Sorry, we went to the common room but you were gone....and
something not so nice was there.
Katy: Yeah....and we were chased upstairs by someone too.
Bob: By who? Did you see them?
Dave: A freak in a scream mask..apparently.
Bob: Yeah right...that only happens in movies.
Natalie: Anyway, we thought it better to stay put instead of wandering around
the school aimlessly.
Donna: Don't suppose you guys found a way outta here?
Bob: Nah, sorry. (Seeing that Clint isn't with them) Where's Clint?
Scott: Don't know. (To Natalie) Donna said that you'd run after him.
Natalie: Nah, I thought it was him but it was Bob.
Dave: Well, he's gotta be around somewhere.
Katy: I hope something bad hasn't happened to him.
(They leave the canteen and walk towards the toilets. The girls go to
go in and the boys attempt to follow)
Donna: Uh huh, excuse me? (Putting her arm across the doorway to stop the
boys from going in) And where d'ya think you're going?
Aaron: We are not letting you girls outta our sights.
Natalie: Yeah, thanks and all, but some things are strictly for us girls.
Dave: I don't mind (Smiles flirtatiously)
Bob: God, Dave. You're so pathetic.
Scott: Thanks Bob. For a minute there I thought it was just me.
Aaron: Well, I'm not letting Katy out of my sight. You guys wait here, it
doesn't take 3 of us to patrol a girls loo.
(He goes inside and Scott, Bob and Dave lean against the wall
outside)
Bob: So, what did this 'person in a scream mask' look like?
Scott: (Sarcastically) Strangely enough, they looked like a person..in a
scream mask!
Bob: Hey, OK, cool it. (Standing up straight) I hope Clint's OK.
Dave: Of course, it could have been a figure of your imagination, I mean
somehow you manage to imagine that Donna may be interested in you!
If you believe that then stories of a spooky masked figure aren't too
out of the ordinary.
Scott: (Agitated) OK, I'm only going to tell you this once so listen carefully.
One, I know what I saw and I did not make it up and two, Donna does
like me so up yours!
Dave: Yeah, what did you imagine that as well?
Scott: No, she told me.
Dave: (His face falls) When?
Scott: Earlier on.
Dave: But...
Bob: For goodness sake, if you two could only hear how stupid you sound.
(Scott and Dave give Bob identical looks of annoyance. They see
each others look and quickly drop it. The girls come back out,
followed by Aaron)
Natalie: Well, thank you Aaron for the escort but there are some things a girl
has to do by herself!
Aaron: (Blushing) From now on, we stick together. No more splitting up in
twos.
Donna: I agree. Although..I don't think Katy is too pleased about that!
Katy: (Blushes) Huh? Don't be silly.
Bob: Huh? Am I missing something here?
Donna: Katy and Aaron are in love!
Natalie: Ah! That's sweet.
Donna: Yeah, they want to get married as soon as possible.
Aaron: Huh? Hang on a minute....
Dave: Woah..that's going a bit fast isn't it?
Donna: Oh no, they don't want their kid to be born out of wedlock.
Scott: Woah..They're having a kid? I'm definitely missing something!
Katy: Donna, Shut up! We're not getting married and we're not having a kid
either. (To the others who are looking extremely worried) She's just
winding you up.
Donna: Yeah..come on guys.
Bob: Yeah well, I find it kinda hard to concentrate on jokes when my twin
brother is out there by himself with a maniac.
Donna: Oh, sorry Bob.
Aaron: Yeah come on Bob. That was kinda harsh.
Donna: It's not that I don't care. (Heatedly) Maybe the only way I can cope
with all this is by trying to be light-hearted about it!
Scott: Hey, it's OK.. (Puts an arm around her) Lets get outta here.
