Personal Bio
Eddie Mace likes to play
the guitar...and if you've seen his collection of axes, you'd know
why!
Boasting sixteen (yup...16) beauties in his collection, Eddie doesn't
let
his talents go to waste! And anyone who knows him, knows he
wails!
As Number Nine's lead guitarist (the tall one), Eddie also plays the
Corrisedin
bottle slide and is quite talented on the Ab harmonica. He
describes
himself as "nice, easy going and tall" and considers himself to be a
"Beatle
and brew warrior," especially around his fellow band mates. His
favorite
Beatles songs include "And Your Bird Can Sing," "Blackbird," "I Don't
Want
to Spoil the Party" and "Polythene Pam"...quite a diverse list!
What's
his philosophy? "You can't teach a duck to catch mice." But
on a more serious note, Ed claims that "commitment, dedication,
discipline
and action will breed results in any endeavor...even in our Number
Nine!"
And just what would Mr. Mace be doing if Number Nine didn't
exist?
"I'd be talking to Tom and John about getting a band together, unless
they
kicked me out...or playing the Taylor 12-string at home in the basement
a lot, looking at my guitars and amps in the spare bedroom closet...and
I'd have more energy on Sundays!" His list of favorite performers
includes: James Taylor, Ricky Scaggs, Danny Gatton, Allman Brothers,
Brooks
& Dunn, Leroy Parnell, Tom Petty and Eric Johnson. But
compared
to the other guys in the band, Ed considers himself to be a casual
Beatles
fan. As a matter of fact, his son, Erich, usually helps him learn
his parts to Beatles songs!
