My name is Melissa Keers, and I'm from Indianapolis, Indiana. I'm 24; I got my first tattoo when I was 18. I'm somewhat of a nerd; I have a huge Lord of the Rings collection, and I collect original Care Bears, Strawberry Shortcake, and Rainbow Brite. I like punk music; my fave band right now is Flogging Molly, but, by my boyfriend coaxing, I'm starting to get into A Perfect Circle and Tool as well. As for my tattoos: I got my first tattoo right after I turned 18. I think it was a rebellious thing for me...my parents are against tattoos. I had always been the good kid, still am; so I went on this church camp thing at Ball State in Indiana, and while I was there I went to the Ouch Gallery and got my first tattoo. It was just the bleeding heart to start...I went back a little later and got it finished. Im really glad that I did it. It was my first step toward independence from my parents. I hid it for a long time, and I told them on Christmas Day, and they weren't thrilled, but they accepted it. My second tattoo, the butterfly, was just a "hey, let's go get tattoos" thing. My best friend and I were at King's Island in Ohio, and we got bored, and she didnt have any tattoos, so we went and found a shop and got matching tattoos. Hers is on her shoulder blade and it has a teal outline, but mine killed so I didn't get the color. My third and fourth tattoos I just got in 2003. I had been wanting to get another tattoo for a while, and just hadn't been able to afford it. Well, I finally got enough money to get something done, so I started my search of what I wanted to get. I always wanted something on my chest and the common lower back, but I picked my chest. I found a picture of the stapled stars, and I liked them a lot, so that is what I picked...stars are cool things to get. Real stars are made of everything we need to live, so they are a sign of life. I need to get them touched up. I have my next tattoo picked out, and it might be my last...but I always say that. The Lord of the Rings pic below is what I'm going to get tattooed on me...i'm going to get it all the way across my lower back. Most likely it will just be the black outlines of the people, but I might get some of the elvish writing under it. Im really excited about it. It will be started in April; there is an extra Friday in April and I get paid every week, so I'm excited!!! I have also been thinking of getting the Dali piece I have posted tattooed as well. I looked on BME and I also got my pictured added to their site.***contact: talk_nerdy_2_me1981@yahoo.com (If you want my address or number just send me an email. I will write back, i love mail!!)***
