SIDE EFFECT The music: |
Throughout the years, Side Effect has remained two steps ahead of and one step behind popular music. Tony's electronic drumming combines industrial alternative with funky speed metal and everything in between. Jarek's European bass touches the dark side, while keeping a foot in funk, and a hand in classic European metal. Jim's guitar chunks reminisce of a metallic funk, and a bluesy dange. Michael's lead guitar mixes Vai with Vaughan, Friedman with Page, and Cantrell with Trower. Add in Michael's harmonies with the power vocals by Dennis, with noticeable influences which range from McCartney to Kid Rock, Anthony Kiedis to Bon Jovi, and above all--Den E Wojo. The songs diversities vary as much as their influences. Dark, near metal songs segue to industrial hip-hop and funky flavors with a power driven, grungy crunch. All original material composed by the band, with occasional unusual covers like "Whip It!" (Devo), and "Motel 666" (The new Duncan Imperials). What is recorded is not reproduced live, but rather enhanced by whimsical visual creativity, and a continuous change in songs to keep audiences coming back to see what they'll do next. A band that mixes raw talent, boundless creativity, and technology of yesterday and today, Side Effect a little bit of something for everyone, and a little bit of everything for someone. |
