skism began one night when i was 13 yrs old listening to the radio. It was the anniversary of Kurt Cobain's death. I wasn't really paying much attention to the tribute that was playing until they played 'smells like teen spirit'. I'd heard the song before and quite frankly i hated it. But all of a sudden i loved it and all i could think about from that day forth was getting my own guitar and starting a band. A few weeks later i went out and bought my first Nirvana cd, and listened to it religously. I begged and begged my parents to buy me a guitar for christmas, but they were convinced it was to much noise and that i'd get bored of it, thus, a waste of money. Well as usual when i get determined i would not give up. i whined, i yelled and i nagged until finally on christmas day there was a new guitar waiting for me, that was one of the happiest days of my life. Within 2 weeks of getting this guitar i had written 'Trapped', the song that started it all. I asked Kristy if she wanted to join my band, after hearing 'Trapped' she decided to play bass. Kippo also joined as rythm guitarist and Louise West Joined as drummer. We spent most practices playing 'Trapped', 'Pain' and 'Suicidal'. After a while Kippo sort of unofficially left the band in early 97, but never really did. For the time after this it was mostly just me and Kristy turning up to practices, writing songs together and performing. In 98 i met Macca now my partner of 2 yrs. Kristy suggested that he join the band as guitarist, even though he had never picked one up in his life. I eventually convinced Macca to learn guitar and he bought his beloved Ibanez strat. Macca turned out to be a naturally talented guitarist, already better then me and i've been playing 3 yrs longer. We practiced as an entire band once where after Louise decided to leave the band to pursue acting (very talented). So it was me Kristy and Macca without a drummer, but we continued pracicing and writing songs. In mid 99 Macca met Mark, a drummer looking for a band. We met him and he fitted in perfectly. We had our first jam session as a band on new yrs eve 99. It was perfect, all of a sudden our songs sounded like songs, and in time. About two minutes into the yr 2000 Mark and Kristy locked lips and have been together since. We spent the next few months having regular practice and played at Highvale secondary college on may 5th 2000. We got a farely goood reaction, though not many people turned up. Alas things changed, a week before we were to record our demo Kristy and Macca informed us that they were leaving. Mark was shocked, i took it pretty bad but we moved on. We recently got in contact with Sheree who is a guitarist/vocalist/bassist and Steven who is a guitarist, steven joined and so did sheree. However Sheree left the band and now we have a new bassist - Ryan. SKISM IS COMING!!!!!!!!!!!!
