a brief history
Tic was formed by Jim and Jay Y. in the Summer of 2000. They had previously been in an untitled prog rock band together, and were still jamming regularly. They already had a few songs written when co-worker Jay K. came on board as bassist in August. Tic was briefly a quartet, but after our lead singer left we decided to stay a trio and handle the vocal duties ourselves. The rest is history...
Tic timeline
- Aug. 2000: Tic formed!
- Sep. 2000: Lead singer quits, Tic becomes a trio.
- Feb. 7, 2001: 1st public performance-- musicians' jam night at Encore bar & grille in Berea, OH.
- March 10, 2001: Our 1st real gig. Played with Tocsin and Gatlin at the Bottomline Saloon.
- April, 2001: Record first demo (unreleased).
- June 9, 2001: Second gig-- Maple Grove w/ Godmode & Toast N Jam.
- July 13, 2001: 3rd gig-- Flying Machine w/ Local Tuffs, Franklyn and Hatemail.
- Aug. 2001: Tic turns 1 year old!!!
- Oct., 2001: 2nd demo recorded; first official release.
- Oct. 26, 2001: Halloween gig at Phantasy w/
Tocsin, Riven, and ComaTrip.
- Nov. 17, 2001: 1st headlining gig at Bottomline Saloon w/ Seventh Sun & Southern Trespass.
- Nov. 21, 2001: Flying Machine gig w/ AllOut, Thiq, and I2D.
- Dec. 7, 2001: Peabody's gig w/ AllOut, Crypt Kicker & more.
- Jan. 18, 2002: Revolution gig w/ AllOut and Gargantua Soul.
- Feb. 2, 2002: Digger's gig (Wooster) w/ Seventh Sun, Tocsin, and Comatrip.
- Feb. 9, 2002: Avenue gig (Kent) w/ AllOut and Last Exit.
- March 23, 2002: Bottomline Saloon (headlining) w/ AllOut and Tocsin.
- April 26, 2002: Revolution w/ Face Lift, Dozer, AllOut and Tongue Leash.
- May 24, 2002: AAAW Benefit Concert @ the Odeon w/ Cobra Axis, NFactor, Seventh Sun, FedUp, Bazooka Proof, AllOut, Basement Love Underground, and Luxie.
- June 2002: Tic goes on indefinite hiatus...
