Tears and blackness never did mix well with the vibrant colors of roses, carnations, tulips, and all the breathtaking flowers that filled the front of the small church. The banners that hung on the floral arrangements shimmered brilliantly in the sunlight that broke through the colored glass, which gave such a grim day a beautiful setting. The white casket with gold trimming sat in the center of the glorious flowers, a spectacular yet sorrow filled sight for the people in attendance. This was where she will be forever more. Her face was soft and pleasant. She was safe now. No one could harm her any longer and the pain would never return. The pale yellow dress with a pastel floral design that she was dressed it was always her favorite. She wore it on her first date, her sweet sixteen birthday, her college interview, and her graduation. Now she could wear in for all of eternity. Her cheeks were just as rosy, and her lips just as red as they had always been. Her friends and family could still see her beaming smile and caring blue eyes. Her cheerful voice filled their heads as memories flowed throughout their minds. And with these memories came rivers of tears. This was the end of the memories. Why did it have to happen to her? How could a girl, filled with life and energy, have her own life taken away at such a young age. A girl who was loving, caring, and generous, who never hurt another human nor animal, who loved all and do anything for her loved ones, have such an unruly and inhumane death. Now she is gone. Gone in the flesh, but never forgotten in the minds of all who loved her.
The wind blew harder and colder against her. She pulled her coat closer to her and rubbed her body to keep the warmth. For three hours she had been walking. The gas station was just in her eyesight, another fifteen minutes and she would be there. She would call her parents and a tow truck, get back to her car, and finally go home. She cursed at herself for leaving her cell phone in her room and for ignoring the gas gauge in her car. The sun had set about an hour ago and the black of night was quickly swallowing her in it.
Her thoughts were interrupted by a breaking branch. She froze. Her heart picked up its pace as did her feet. Again another branch broke. Her pace became faster and faster. Footsteps fell behind her and she took off. The footsteps also picked up its pace to a sprint. A forceful hand landed on her shoulder, jolting her backward and onto the asphalt of the road. She screamed a ear-piercing shriek, and her attacker silenced her. Suddenly she felt a cold, sharp blade on her neck and someone whisper harshly “Shut up or else!”
He tied a rope around her wrists and straddled her frightened body. She trembled in terror as to what his mission was. The sound of ripping tape frightened her even move. Before she knew it, tape covered her mouth and tears streamed down the sides of her face. He ripped off her shirt and her bra and began groping her breasts, breathing heavily and moaning. She struggled to get out of his hold, but had no hope and he forced her down with his arms. Suddenly, she felt him jerk off her jeans and rip her panties off of her. She winced in anticipation of what was coming next. She was being raped. She felt him enter her body and forcefully move against her body. He moved rapidly and fiercely. She struggled to wiggle her wrists out of their prison, with little success, she attempted to pull off the tape and screamed in horrible pain. Suddenly she felt slashes on she stomach and shrieked in horror. As the attacker slashed with his blade across her body, he moved even more rapidly against her as the screams and slashing aroused him greatly.
Abruptly the attacker was off of her and she heard people struggle. A gentle hand lifted her off the ground and she cried. She couldn’t move, she couldn’t stop trembling, and had great difficultly breathing. Red and blue lights flashed and police cars were surrounding her. An ambulance soon followed, she was rushed to the hospital, and the attacker was arrested. As she laid in the ambulance stretcher, she caught a glimpse of her attacker.
Her parents were in utter shock as they rushed to the hospital. Her father cursed furiously and her mother wept for her only daughter. Shortly after her parents and family saw her, she died.
Do not weep for me my loved ones, for I am safe now. Do not mourn my death, but rather celebrate my life. Remember all that we had shared, whether that be happy or sad. I am not in pain anymore. I can be in peace forever more now. Gain justice for my horrid death. Punish my attacker, my uncle, in whatever way you all see fit. Let him feel the wrath of condemnation that is placed on such immoral and appalling actions. He will receive what he deserves. Weep for now, but not for long. I will see you all again someday. For now I will watch you from above as I am now. I will always be watching out for you my loved ones and I will always be in your hearts.
