Forever
Light at Lexington Rd and Middlesex Turnpike Forever
lights are those traffic lights that never seem to change until after an
hour
has passed. Billerica has at least two of them. I clocked both
at 2 minutes before the light would change - a LONG two
minutes. One is located at the corner of Lexington Rd and Middlesex
Turnpike. If you are on Lexington Rd waiting for it to turn to
green,
be prepared to relax and sit awhile because that's exactly what you'll be
doing. It'll take at least two minutes before it changes to
green. I have noticed that this light does not seem to want to
change unless a car is coming the other way to "tick" it
off. God forbid if a car does not come the other way to do this
ticking because you may never see it change. (I won't bother
suggesting to you what to do if this happens. Just
use your own discretion.) Forever
Light at Charnstaff Lane and Boston Rd - Billerica's longest light. The
other forever light is at the corner of Charnstaff Ln. and Boston
Rd. This is
by far the LONGEST street light I have encountered in the whole
town. A good full
two minutes (possibly more) is required before that light changes to green
if you're
on Charnstaff Ln. It's waiting, waiting, waiting, and waiting
forever for that light
just to turn. As a matter of fact, I've noticed that some people get
so frustrated with this light that once it changes, they cut through the
Billerica Mall parking lot to get to Tower Farm Rd just so that they WON'T
have to wait and go through another light to reach the road. They're
so full of frustration from the light that they fly through the Billerica
Mall parking lot running through anything and anyone in their path.
I was in a parked car in the lot and I nearly had my car side-swiped from
a driver flying through the parking lot after going through Charnstaff's
traffic light on her way to Tower Farm Rd. She was TIRED of
waiting and when that light changed, Boy, you had just better get
out of her way. She was just FLYING through that parking
lot. Which scared me in another way. Off to a side in the
parking lot, a group of young boys were riding their bikes. She
could've hit any one of them.
