We had made our way to the new fair grounds where they held the yearly carnival. Rides were everywhere, and booths were set up where you could win prizes. Kim smiled like a small child as we walked by some of them, gazing at the huge teddy bears that hung in rows lining the walls. She was a child at heart, and I knew that she and I couldn't have been any more alike if we tried. I admired some of the stuffed animals myself. We walked up to a booth and I pulled out a dollar bill and placed it on the counter. The man behind the counter smiled at me and handed me three darts. I was usually good at this game. Popping balloons with a dart seemed like an easy enough task to win one of the furry little critters. Easier said than done I guess. 2 games later and still no stuffed bear, I was about to give up. I was a little out of practice apparently. Kim smiled at me and took a dollar out of her own pocket.
"Gimme those things." She laughed as the man handed her the three darts. She closed one eye, focusing on her target carefully. She released the first one as I watched it sail from her hand. It hit the balloon with a loud 'POP'. She threw the next, again right on target, and again. I rolled my eyes at her as the guy handed her a blue teddy beat with a huge yellow bow-tie.
"Here ya go Zac."" She smiled and handed me the bear.
"Kim, you won this. You should have it." I said pushing it back toward her. "Besides, you already gave me a flower, remember?" I smiled.
She held her hands out, refusing to take the thing back.
"No, it's a gift from me to you." She said grabbing my free hand.
"Well thank you. I'll make sure to take good care of it." I smiled to myself, walking hand in hand with her around the many other booths that lined the area. I spotted one ahead and shoved the teddy bear back at Kim.
"Hold this for a second, I'll be right back." I said quickly. I ran toward the booth and left Kim standing there.
"Zac, what are you doing?" She asked.
"Just hold on a sec." I said getting in line. If I couldn't win her something, I would just buy her something instead. My turn finally came and I paid for the purchase. I walked back toward her with my hands behind my back.
"What the heck are you doing?" She laughed.
I held my hands out with a smile. She smiled brightly and kissed my cheek gently.
"How did you know?" She asked.
"I have no idea, I love this stuff." I smiled.
"Cotton candy is my favorite." She laughed and grabbed some of the fluffy candy and popped it into her mouth.
"Mine too." I said grabbing some for myself.
She looked up and me and smiled.
"You have some candy right there." She laughed and pointed to my face.
"So get it off of me."
"Ok." She shrugged and and leaned forward. She licked my bottom lip lightly and pulled away.
"Did ya get it?" I asked her.
"I don't know, I think so."
I smiled at her. Leave it to her to use her mouth to get the stuff off of me. She had to have known what that would do to me. Or maybe she was just oblivious to the fact that she made me wanna scream out from pleasure every time she touched me. And every time she looked at me, it made me wanna thank God that he had blessed this earth with such a wonderful person. She had no idea how special she was, how much she meant to me. But I was beginning to realize to what extent I cared for her. I was a little scared, but every time she touched my hand softly, I forgot all about the fear that was inside of me. All I felt was a warmth that spread from the top of my heart to the tip of my toes. I was starting to fall deeply in love with her. She was everything I had ever prayed for, and so much more.
