Chapter 17......... IN PROGRESS, what you read is a rough draft!
We hung around the carnival for a little bit longer, long enough to ride a few rides. Kim decided she wanted to take me on the Tilt-A-Whirl right after eating to cotton candy. She's lucky I didn't puke on her! She laughed and clung to my arm as the ride spun us out of control. She was so much fun to hang around with, like she had said before, it was almost hard to remember who I really was sometimes! But then reality would set in and people would point and whisper, or stare at me like I was some weirdo from another planet. That would make me remember who I was really quick. I wasn't just Zac Hanson, I was Zac FROM Hanson. I wanted so much to be normal, just another face in the crowd. But then I knew, I couldn't be just another guy, I would always be Zac Hanson, no matter how hard I tried not to be. I would always have girls who knew who I was, and I would always have some people asking for an autograph or picture. Kim looked over at me, grabbing a hold of my hand.
"What is it Zac?"
"Huh? Oh, nothing." I lied.
"Don't lie to me Zac, what's the matter? You can talk to me."
"Oh, I was just thinking is all. I know it must be hard for you to be around me when people notice who I am. And I'm so sorry if I ruined your day."
Here I was feeling sorry for myself, which I knew I shouldn't be. I should be more worried about showing my girlfriend a good time, instead I was sulking like a big baby.
"You didn't ruin my day, I had a blast. And I don't care if people notice you, it comes with your job and I know that. I don't mind sharing you once in a while." She smiled at me.
She always knew just what to say to cheer me up. I smiled back at her as we walked towards the car. We reached it finally and climbed in. I started the engine and looked over at her once more. We headed towards home and I was happy to be out of there. I didn't mind being around my fans, because truthfully, I wouldn't be where I was if it wasn't for them. I love all the fans, but some of them got a little out of hand sometimes. I could deal with the looks and whispers, that didn't bother me so much. But there were some fans who tried to grab at me, that's when I sometimes felt violated.
"I'm glad you had fun."
"Thanks for taking me." She smiled again and watched the road ahead of us.
"No problem. It was nice to get out of the house. Besides, it's not everyday that I get to just go out and have fun without Tay and Ike." I laughed and turned the car left onto the cross street near our house.
"You guys really seem to care about each other. I can tell that you guys love each other very much. I'm glad that you're best friends."
"I do love my brothers, I love my whole family." I rolled down my window as I pulled up to the gate. Henry was sitting inside the booth, watching my car pull up.
"Hey Zac, how's it going today?" He asked me.
"Hey Henry, not too bad. Staying out of trouble for once." I laughed.
"That's good to hear. Who's the pretty gal you got in there?"
"Oh, Henry, this is my girlfriend Kim. Kim, Henry." I said introducing them.
"It's a pleasure to meet you Henry." Kim smiled at him.
"The pleasure is all mine, Miss."
"Well Henry, could you buzz us in please. I hate to run off, but I wanna show Kim around the house a bit. We only made it to my room lastnight." I blurted out and realized how that must sounded.
Henry raised his eyebrows at me and laughed.
"Well Mr. Hanson, I do believe that you should have better manners than that. I do know that your mother raised you better than that young man."
"Oh Henry, please. Just buzz us in." I said nervously. I knew I was blushing. I hadn't meant for it to come out like that. Kim laughed lightly and grabbed my hand again.
"You really do have a way with words, Baby." She giggled.
"You don't have to tell me, I know! Sometimes I wonder how I can sing because I get this serious problem with my mouth, when words just fly out of it before I realize what I'm saying!" I shook my head and parked my car in the drive way. Kim hopped out and closed her door, straightening out her shirt in the process. She never seemed to get weirded out by the things I said, but then again, she seemed to be alot like me in most ways. Except the fact that she was very well spoken, and had the posture of a Royal. Seeing her eat was the funniest thing to me, Taylor didn't even have manners like her, and he was one of the pickiest people ALIVE! I guess it must have alot to do with her upbringing. I don't have bad manners, I just don't eat like I'm courting a Princess to a dinner at the palace. Dinner that night was one of the most entertaining dinners in a long time. And that means alot coming from a guy that lives with 8 other people. Everyone watched her as she daintily laid her napkin into her lap and sipped from her glass. Taylor furrowed his brows and looked over at me. I just shrugged my shoulders and smiled. God definitely broke the mold when He made her!
