Broken Angel

Now as I was saying before....... love is hard! My mom used to say falling in love was a beautiful thing. Don't get me wrong, being in love is great, but when you're far away from that person, it isn't so nice all the time! Life feels like it's slipping by, and there's nothing you can do. When I used to ask my mom what being in love felt like, she always told me she never had the words to explain it to me. I have a few words to explain it!
Just picture not being able to breathe and your heart feels like it beats a million times faster when you see that person, you feel like everything else around you stops. Love, can honestly be beautiful...... but it can also be a hard and trying time in your life, believe me!

I did call Kim back that afternoon, after I had gone to lunch with Taylor and Isaac at some restaurant in town. She agreed to meet me somewhere and we could hang out and talk. I told her to just come to the hotel and we could hang out in my room and play video games if she wanted to. She laughed at first, and I thought she was going to tell me off. But she said she'd be there in a while. I decided to watch a little TV while I waited. Why was it, when you have like 100 channels, there was never anything worth watching on? I finally settled for watching Ace Ventura - Pet Detective. I had seen this movie about a trillion times before, and I could honestly say that hearing Jim Carrey's voice again almost made me wanna vomit! I heard a knock on my door so I got up to see who it was. I cracked it open slightly and saw Kim standing there smiling. Now I don't know, but have you ever met someone, that the first day you see them, you know your life will never be the same afterward? That's how Kim made me feel.

"Good afternoon Zac. How are you today?" She asked walking into the room and putting her bag down on the table.
"I'm good Kim, thank you. And how are you?" I asked as I closed the door again and walked over to the bed.
"I'm just fine, Thanks. A little tired. I also wanted to tell you and your brothers that your show was awesome yesterday. I had a lot of fun." She smiled at me. Every time I saw her smile, it lifted my spirits a little at a time.
"Thank you, I'm glad you had fun." Yeah, that was really smart. Why was it, that when I was in the same room as her, I couldn't even speak intelligently? She must think I'm a friggin' idiot. I thought to myself.
"I can't imagine being surrounded by all those people all the time. I don't think I could handle it as well as you three seem to." She smiled again and pulled one of the chairs out from the table. She sat down and crossed her legs. She was not one of those model type of girls, but she wasn't ugly either, not in any sense of the word. She was a classic beauty, not too much make - up. I really hated that, when a girl wore so much make - up on her face, you had to sit and wonder how she could even hold her head up under the weight of it! I looked up at here again, and smiled the best smile I could muster. I was so nervous, I could feel butterflies in my stomach.

"So, are you ok?" Kim asked me, breaking me from my thoughts.
"Huh, oh yeah. I just don't really hang out with many people, other than Ike and Taylor. I'm sorry if you're bored. Do you wanna do something?" I could feel that spewing of words just fly out of my mouth like a gust of wind! I blushed slightly and looked at her questioningly.
"I thought we were going to play Nintendo. I could whip your butt, I'm good!" She laughed.
Just her talking about my butt had me shifting nervously on the bed. I slid over and patted the seat next to me. She stood up, straitening her shirt out, and walked over to me and plopped down on the bed. What she did then almost made me cry out from sheer delight. She leaned over, really close to my ear, and whispered into it.

"I'm not going to bite you, Zac." She said quietly. Her hot breath hitting my ear. I could feel every hair on the back of my neck stand on end.
"I know." I somehow managed to choke that sentence out before leaning over and flipping the game console on. I picked up the controllers and handed her one. Her hand lightly brushed against my own, and I smiled over at her.
"So what are we playing?" She asked folding her legs underneath her.
"Well, what do you want to play? I have Tetris, you like that game?" I asked her.
"Tetris is my favorite game." She smiled brightly. I leaned back over and flipped the switch back off, then replaced the game with Tetris. I quickly switched it to two players and we played. She wasn't kidding when she said she was good. She beat my ass...... HARD! She made it to level 13 before she even started to have trouble landing the blocks the way she wanted them. She finally got a 'Game Over' and I looked up at her with a huge grin on my face.

"What?" She asked innocently.
"You know what. You're a game geek!" I laughed at her.
"Well, I grew up with a younger brother. I had to do something other than play in the dirt with matchbox cars!" She laughed back and laid her hand on my shoulder.
"You're different than most of the other girls I meet." I had said to her. I had thought that to myself a couple times since I had met her.
"Well, Gee........ Thanks." She said with an offended face. I started getting nervous again, thinking I had pissed her off. Then she cracked a smile at me. "I know, everyone tells me that." She replied. I managed to exhale the breath I had been holding in. She was a crack-pot. One thing was for sure, I would never get bored with her, she was as bad as I was.
