~Chapter Six~

Well it had definetly been a busy day, after my shower Christy took me to the nearest spa for a manicure, pedicure, facial and a bunch of other stuff i'm too tired to remember right now.

After I tried on basically her whole closet. Until I had finally found the perfect outfit. It was nothing special. A 3/4 sleeved blouse, with pink cris-crosses on it, and a short jean skirt. But not too short. I decided to wear my own shoes, they were black, with flowers on them made out of small beads, and a 2 inch heal.

Christy insisted that I looked great. But I didn't think I looked like someone who was about to go on a date with a guy like Nick.

My make-up was good, though. It was light but enough "enhance" my features, as Christy put it. She put concealer on the bruises, and you couldn't even tell I ever had them. I had on a clear mascara, light pink eyeliner, a little bit of blush, and light pink lip gloss.

"You are going to blow his socks off!" Christy said, running into the room something in her hand. She held whatever it was up. "And I got a curling iron, just to curl the tips of your hair. It will look awesome!"

"Why the hell do you looking so glum? You're about to go on a date with one of the most gorgeous, sweetest, funniest guys ever! You should be delighted!" Christy said in a berated tone. I giggled lightly.

"I am delighted! I'm just nervous..." I offered. Christy looked at me suspiciously. "I've never been on a date before." I confessed. Christy gasped.

"You're kidding!" She declared. I bit my lip and shook my head 'no'. She lightly touched my arm. "Don't worry hun, you'll do great!" She assured me. Well, tried to.

We both jumped when we heard a loud knock on the door. Christy glanced at her watch.

"Six on the dot! Impressive..." She giggled. I laughed with her, and stood up to answer the door.

I stopped before the door, smoothing down my dress and hair quickly. And slowly turned the knob.

Nick looked up at me, and sucked in his breath. "Wow." He spluttered. I felt the heat rise in my cheeks and managed to mumble a 'thank-you'. "You look great! No, beautiful!" I knew my face must have highly resembled a tomato.

"Thank you. You look great too." I told him. And that he did. He was wearing a light blue button down shirt with the top few buttons open, and khakis. His hair was slightly spiked, and it looked great.

This time it was his turn to blush.

"Shall we go?" He asked with a smirk, holding out his arm for me. I giggled and slipped my arm into his.

"Definetly!"

The date so far had been a blast. Nick had been funny as hell, as usual. And eventually I loosened up.

I sipped on my coke as we fell into a comfortable silence. Nick leaned over the table, I wasn't sure what he was going to do. I put my glass down, to find him staring at me.

"It's not polite to stare you know." I joked, Nick smiled.

"I can't help it.." He mumbled. "So, are you having a good time so far?" He questioned.

"A great time, are you?" I echoed him.

"Wonderful time." He replied.

Then our waiter came over with the check. My eyes dropped, after we paid he would be taking me home. I didn't feel like going home yet.

I watched as Nick picked up the ledger and flipped it open.

"Do you want to split?" I offered. Nick digged into his pocket for his wallet.

"No way." He said as he sorted through it. I rested my head on the palm of my hand.

"I don't wanna go home.." I whined. Nick laughed.

"You don't have to go home." He whispered.

I stared up at him, and bit my lip slightly. Nick leaned across the table, slowly. I sucked in a breath, and closed my eyes. I knew what was coming....

"Sorry if i'm interuppting." We jumped at the voice. I looked up at the waiter and smiled sheepishly. Nick looked pissed off of course.

"Of course you weren't interuppting anything." Nick said in a sarcastic tone. I bit back a laugh and grabbed my purse.

I pulled on my sweater as we walked outside. I felt something brush my hand and looked down to see Nick's hand searching for mine. I slipped my hand into his, and smiled up at him.

"Soo...If I don't have to go home yet, then where am I going?" I asked earnestly. Nick shrugged.

"We could go back to my place." He suggested. I froze.

"Your place?" I asked skeptically. Nick nodded, and caught my look out of the corner of his eye.

"Not for that reason Laurel." He countered with a laugh. "I mean to watch a movie, or for a drink." I blushed.

"Sounds good." I said lightly.

I leaned against the door and watched him unlock the door to his apartment. When it opened, he stepped in flicking on the lights.

I walked in behind him, taking a look around. Expect a guy like Nick to have a beautiful apartment. It looked very cozy. I unbuttoned my sweater and slid it off my shoulders.

"Here, let me hang that up for you." Nick offered. I thanked him and passed it to him.

I slipped off my heels, walking past the hallway. I realized I was in the living room, the carpet was plush, white and so soft. There were paintings, and 2 white leather couches in the middle of the room facing the big screen television.

I turned around to face him.

"Very nice place." I said with a smile. Nick grinned at my reaction.

"How about a drink?" He asked me, walking into his kitchen.

"Sure." I said shortly, following him. "Do you have any coke?" I questioned, rewarded with a laugh in response. "What?"

"I was thinking along the lines of wine or something..." He laughed.

"Oh, well i'm not drinking age." I said quietly. Nick shrugged.

"Pretty close." He replied. "So how about it?" He repeated. I nodded simply.

He walked to the frigde until he found the bottle. And then walked into the dining room to grab some glasses. I leaned against his counter, waiting patiently.

He walked back into the kitchen, setting the glasses beside me on the counter. He poured the wine carefully into the glasses, watching with an amused look as I watched him.

"Is it really that interesting?" He mused. I giggled.

"Extremely." I said sarcastically. I thanked him as he handed me my glass. And slowly sipped on it. To my surprise it tasted really good. I watched as Nick brought the glass up to his lips, closing his lips around the rim of the glass. With those lips...He had such full, kissable lips. I stared at them longingly.

I snapped out of my gaze as I heard a sound of shattering. I looked at my feet to see my glass in pieces all over the floor, the wine splattered. I cursed loudly, and bend down to pick up the glass. Nick grabbed my hands quickly.

"No don't do that, you'll cut yourself. Let me get some towels." He said urgently, slipping into the hallway. I felt my eyes fill with tears, I was so embarrassed. I was going good until I had to mess up.

Nick came back and bent down to wipe the wine up. I grabbed one of the towels beside him and gently started to pick up the glass.

"I'm so sorry Nick.." I whispered when we were finished. Nick shrugged.

"Don't worry about it...I have at least a thousand more glasses." He assured me. I couldn't help it when a lone tear slid down my cheek.

I felt Nick's hand under my cheek, pulling my face up to look at him. I blinked back more tears. Nick gently wiped away my tear with his thumb.

"Don't cry Laurel. It's not your fault, I do that at least a hundred times a day." He consoled me. I laughed softly, wiping my eyes.

"You know I better get going now. Christy might think I ran off somewhere with you." I admonished, glancing at my watch. Nick cleared his throat.

"Alright, I'll just grab your sweater for you, and we'll get going."

***************

I leaned against the door to Christy and my apartment.

"Thanks for tonight, Nick. I had a wonderful time." I breathed. "Sorry again about the glass." I added with a sheepish smile.

Nick chuckled.

"I had a great time too. And the glass is already forgotten." He concluded.

I leaned forward and softly kissed his cheek, letting my lips linger a little longer.

"Thanks again, call me." I said with a smile, opening the door.
